You're the one that's gotta be joking. And you've proven my point. In a time where the days of the boxers being elevated out the gate are over. There are no longer boxers like Sugar Ray Leonard and De La Hoya generating buzz right after debuting.

Yet boxers like Loma and most definitely Jake Paul have a following like no other right out of the gate where as you put it, "Whites are the minority in the sport". I wonder why? Race has nothing to do with it. Yeah, right!!!!

Mayweather nor Canelo were superstars by their 15th or 20th fight. It took time to build their brand.

And I don't know your age, but you probably can't sit face to face with me and run a gauntlet conversation of boxing history.

While these are our opinions, quite a few fans can appreciate what Shakur Stevenson brings to the table. Nay Sayers call him boring, but when it gets down to it, Stevenson is a very good boxer. He's had a couple of duds, but he has also had entertaining bouts. Styles make fights. That's what boxing is.

There have been a few boxers who have had duds, but when they finally arrived, they treated true boxing fans to some classic bouts. They just needed that challenge - that dance partner. I see Stevenson as being a boxer that will end up fitting this description.

when he faced a real protected A-side guy in 'Canelo' he came out the wrong end of decisions which was not surprising as thats how boxing works, undefeated Kovalev with all the belts got jobbed by Ward (twice), if this is protection and i was one of those guys then count me out i would say
huh???? how you you get jobbed when you lost by KO because you clearly didn't want to fight anymore???

Moving parts here for sure. Shakur can't sell at the moment due to his style, and his piss poor performance in November, but he is still among the most talented fighters in the world. He is going to have to go the Winky Wright/Hagler route, fight every last mother%%%% out there until the cash cows have nowhere else to go.

It was a disgraceful performance, and way to win a world championship from another title holder.
He can try and justify his performance all he wants, but it wasn't the first time he fought an overly defensive fight.
Chances are he'll fight another couple of shamefully boring fights, and offend a lot more people before his career is over.
The question is who wants to see him fight, or hear him talk some more ****? I don't, he's just not as good, or crowd pleasing as he thinks he is.
He's just a boring fighter, with a big mouth, and that just doesn't work in the world of sports, but it works even less in the sport of boxing.
If you're going to talk ****, you've got to back it up Shakur! Put up, or shut up, as the tried, and true saying goes.
I agree with most of your post but I do think that Shakur has a lot of talent. How he uses that talent is another question. The sweet science isn't so sweet when it's boring. Time for him to step up his fight game and tone down the rhetoric. The money is out there, especially from the Saudis but Turki Alalshikh wants to put on shows with action and excitement. Stevenson lately has been neither of the two!

He's doing his best to sound like Floyd, Bud and anybody else that left Top Rank. Just say it's your last fight and call it a day, bro. You never heard about his career being stalled until now. Smh
