Calzaghe has been avoided his whole career, no one wants business with him. Hopkins said he`d fight him a few years and was set to get a mega payday as Joe was prepared to take peanuts just to get the fight, Hopkins pulled out.
I can`t see any supermiddle giving Calzaghe much probablems. Though its true he has fought only a handful of good fighters, its the way he`s haddled them. Apart from his fight with Robin Reid, Calzaghe has dominanted every opponent he has ever faced. He got floored by the Egytiain because he was grossly weight drained and shouldn`t be losing as much weight as he does to make 168 ( his walking weight is near 190!).
Joe should vacant his title and try to force a mandatory match at light heavyweight. He would abuse glen Johnson and though i believe it would be a close competitive match, i can`t see Tarver beating the Welshman, he` too quick and he does fight extremely hard.

almost losing is not quite correct he got caught by a peach of a right hand but won just about every other round get your facts straight before making sweeping statements please. A great right hand that most supermiddles woudnt have got upo form i hasten to add. No problems with joe's chin i assure you.

He did blow his chance at johnson before but this was due to a messy break up of his marriage, at one point he was arrested I believe, certianly the police were called.
So as you can see he probably wasnt in the best mental shape to go into the biggest fight of his career. Now these in an ideal world arent acceptable excuses but Joe obviously had **** to deal with which he did and now at 32 he needs these career defining fights.

He is supremely talented and has been the best supermiddle for some 5-6 years at least, he would know far too much for lacy at this stage of his career. Its time he moved up though to light heavy and its high time he fought one of the guys he is constantly calling out.

He calls them out but they refuse to fight him. He doesn`t fear anyone but Calzaghe may have earned himself the big fight by being floored in his last fight by a crap opponent. I hope someone gives him the chance one day soon!

          Calzaghe....whatever

Calzaghe has a lot of gall "calling" anyone out given the feast of cupcakes he has feasted on in his career. As far as I can tell, his biggest wins were Mitchell and Brewer....neither which would last 3 rounds with Tarver, Johnson, or especially Jones before he grew old.

Seems pretty ballsy, called Jones a punk and everything. I'll have to do some checking and see what this dude can bring to the table.
              Yeah, what else is new?

I have serious doubts over the possibility of Calzaghe v Tarver/Johnson. But if it did, IMO Joe beats them both.

Joe beats Johnson, but would lose to Tarver.

Antonio Tarver would destroy Joe Calzaghe.

Please explain how Callzaghe gets anything done with Tarver ?

Tell me one foe he's fought who prepares him to face tarver & be successful...?

                      This is getting boring!!

A fighter with a better record than any other fighter at super middle, who's undefeated and he's without doubt the divisions number 1!! He's been number 1 for years!! Where's the problem??

I LMFAO when you guys mention Lacy!! Lacy would be Calzaghe's defining fight !! he's 17-0 kid who hasnt beaten a decent fighter yet! yes Vanderpool is ****!! If Lacy wasnt American you would all be saying he's a untested fighter who's beaten nobodys and he should fight outside his own country!!

Love or hate Calzaghe, he's been the top dog at super middle for a long time, long enough to get him a fight with the Tarver vs Johnson winner, because lets be honest nobody cared about these two guys until they beat a weight trained shot fighter!! A prime Jones would have beaten them both silly at the same time!!
