I've seen similar stories. They take looong layoffs, then eventually want to come back.
In his case, Garcia took a tuneup with Benavidez, then wanted Lara, but didn't materialize.
He then talked to Hearn for the Conor Benn fight disregarding Ben's peds issue.
In other words, he's desperate and now wants his old rivals who most likely are also desperate like him,
thus got better chances of getting. Question is who wants to put money in these types of fights?

Long vacationers come back eventually. Sadly, fans' interest would not be the same as before, but we'll see.

Moral lesson of the story is don't take your prime years for granted.
Garcia was only 32 when he partially retired. He came back for a tune up
after almost 2 years. Fights will not always be available for you when
you come back. Even if they do, the paycheck is reduced significantly.
Unless Turki wants you for his undercards.

Solid fighter Danny Garcia. You would expect, that Garcia is the ideal opponent for Conor Benn if? Match Room and Eddie Hearn really believe Benn is going to become a top level fighter.

Danny Garcia in my opinion, has no real bad loses on his resume 'But really he needs to build some momentum in his career'.

I would say that a rematch with Keith Thurman is the closest fight to Danny Garcia 'And in terms of match making in the sport, for both fighters it is a great fight to make. It has significance and a theme between the fighters'.

Note: Errol Spence Junior is still a level above Danny Garcia 'Spence Junior has only just lost his World titles. And from what I have read, Spence Junior has serious intentions at attacking the 154 pound Division. Errol Spence Junior does not seem to be concerned with fighters who are looking to just opportunistically make fights. I still believe that a fighter like Spence Junior while he is still in the game, his intentions are to fight for World Titles'.

To conclude: Danny Garcia vs Keith Thurman, is probably the best fight to make for both of those fighters 'I would not put Errol Spence Junior in their group, Spence Junior is still until disproven a level above for sure Danny Garcia' etc.

Leo Santa Cruz is nearly the same age and hasn't been heard of for more than 2 years now. Could be a PBC thing.

Wait, so he's not fighting Lara after all? Shitty fight, but we should've at least heard something. More so I only care about Lara staying active.
