Yet I hear nothing but contempt for this ancient, effective and simple means of declaring the champion... the undisputed champion. Then people get upset because the lineal only seems to pop up when needed. That is what it is supposed to do!! It is an instrument of the fan's will... it should supercede attempts for lobbying, alphabet soup authorities, trying to tell fans that paper tigers are real champions.
How many more of these alphabets do we need? Right now? there are probably times when there are more champions than contenders! I am only slightly exxagerating... Charlie Zelenoff has a belt... He is undefeated lol.
Fans need to wake up! As much as I despise them, the Paul brothers have shown how to market oneself, no fight blocking promoters needed. The Saudis have breathed fresh air into the sport... Ask them if they will sponsor obscure alphabet champions...
The lineal is color blind, simple and gives the power to the fans... WHY WHY WHY are the fans so hell bent on rejecting it? You do not have to assert that it is above, or below... The lineal does not even need a hierarchy. It is the collective voice of the fans making their demands known... The only real weakness to the system is that it is truly designed for the heavyweights... But that can change.
Finally people cry that sometimes due to retirement, or some other issue, the Lineal gets jammed up... so? it always manages to become unjammed. And again, the fans make the determination.
So come on people!! Put your feelings aside, and when the great powers that be give you juicy lemons... Do not throw them away and buy bottled fructose with lemon flavoring!!!!
