Comments Thread For: Devin Haney Deserves to Have Ryan Garcia Bout Viewed Through His Lens

There's a double-sided truth to what happened in the Ryan Garcia-Devin Haney fight two months ago, and as both sides now move on, one sentiment remains: We cannot unsee what we saw.

These pro-box guys denouncing PED’s is kinda hilarious. They have Roy, Tarver and several other guys who probably took PED’s on their payroll.

Garcia shouldn’t be awarded the W, the NC is fair but we saw what we saw and Haney got exposed.

Haney vs Garcia is a modern day version of Julio Cesar Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor I. In the sense that the punishment Haney took in this fight ruined him just like the beating Taylor took against Chavez ruined Taylor.

Our lens is better than his. Garcia dogged Haney., now Haney has something to say. Thats old news. Guilty, next.

What we saw was Haney lose to a fighter who failed to make the weight and who was on PEDS. Can’t really say he was exposed, due to those circumstances.

Ryan/haney should have a rematch with heavy scrutiny on any peds and a have more stricter weigh-in, so there is zero room for excuse when someone loses. That's the only way to settle this bad blood.

I’ve said this for a while too, I think after his performances vs Gamboa and Linares people are now starting to agree. At least the 135 version of AB actually looked impressive whilst people were hyping him up as the future of the sport. There’s no way in hell this kid could hang with Teofimo or Tank. Even Ryan

Some of us knew what we were looking at the whole time.

Haney just isn’t that good, plain and simple.

If we are going to look at it through his lens then we should look at it from the beginning when they saw a fight with KingRy as easy money...they saw an opponent who had weight issues in the past, appeared to lose focus on boxing, had mental issues and was made to quit by Tank. They thought the fight would be easy money and an easy W.

When Garcia came in over, they just squeezed a little more money out of him because they saw it as further evidence that their opponent was unprepared.

Garcia popped positive and deserves whatever punishment meted out to him by the commission. The fight should be a No Contest. Haney, as a lifelong "A-side", has enjoyed all the advantages against his opponents throughout his career. He has Conte cooking up performance enhancement while tiptoeing the lines of legality.

Boxing is a vicious dirty sport and I don't condone Garcia's behavior but I have difficulty seeing Haney as pure victim when I look through his lens.

So Lomachenko is not that good either, then?
