This kind initiative is quite overdue. It's a shame that there is no organised and financed follow up care by the governing bodies in a sport where participants face a lot of physical and mental health issues during and after their careers but very few are capable of taking care of themselves after their careers have ended.

I applaud AJ for throwing his weight behind this initiative. Hopefully more big names will follow suit.

Its a tax write off. Get back to me when AJ gets on the tools....or hands over a signed personal cheque. Tyson Fury also offered a purse to charity...but soon reneged when he found it he wouldnt get any personal benefit from it.

There are no negatives here , this is very long overdue , good on Joshua and lets see this from other millionaire fighters who not only have the money but the name to throw weight at it .It would be a great help IF these millionaire promoters got involved too, they have a huge platform to help these guys who put them there!
And seeing as El Turkey is putting so much in (and benefitting from) he's got to be worth a call!

The WHOLE point flew over your head. This is not about AJ, it doesn't matter if AJ gains anything or not, he has already called attention to this charity which can lead others to donating. THAT is all that matters, stirring up interest. Everyone should be thankful that this can generate money for a good cause instead of just using this to poke at AJ. Some people are clueless about what the tangent is here.

Promoters are the LEAST likely to get involved, they'd be admitting the sport they're actively promoting leads to mental and psychical issues that sometimes requires complex care needs and in turn profiteering from said sport whilst not engaging in any of the real risks.

Everyone knows what the sport is about - to render your opponent unconscious . Everyone who is involved in this great but obviously brutal sport should be involved , who ever admits or denies is of no consequence.

AJ is not my cup of tea but kudos to him whether his intentions are good or not , just by coming out and endorsing this should get the ball rolling

                  The point didnt fly anywhere.

"Though Harris and his team in the U.K. have raised more than £200,000, they are yet to receive any real help from those who can make a difference and implement a sustainable future for the charity and the home."

Anthony Joshua spends more than this on one training camp. Like i said...when i see him put his hand in his pocket...or pick up the tools and start helping with the construction...then its all publicity to pump his own ego. He should just keep quiet and pay for the build. 10 years down the track people can let the secret out of the bag about his charitable donations...if being charitable is his true intention.

You STILL MISSED THE POINT!!!!!!! This is not about Joshua!!!! This is about bringing attention to the a hugely important charity and that is what he is doing! And others on this thread clearly understand how the charity can benefit with this media burst - but you totally missed the point that others on this thread easily picked up! Stick a fork in you, you are done!
