A one year suspension in pro boxing is a joke. In other sports where you compete every week or every month you get two years. Pro boxers at this level compete once every 6-12 months so it's basically a slap on the wrist.

Agreed. Another example similar is like in baseball….. a field player will get suspended for “3 games” for some type of offense, where a pitcher will get suspended 10 or 20 games for an offense, with the reason being to suspend them from 2 or 3 starts.

In comparison, Boxing should suspend similar situations for 2 years. A 1 year suspension is like suspending a pitcher in baseball for one game, and he can pitch the next.

Like other big earners who were caught before him (Yo, Nelo! Yo, Fury!) Ryan proves it all depends on moolah. As in: how much you’ve got.

If you make A list money, a year ban is only a mosquito bite. The top fighters barely fight more than once a year anyway.

But for a guy moving through the ranks, it matters. Those months are fangs in your neck.

There are lots of creative ways to change this situation, but none will fly in a sport run by corrupt promoters. Let’s see if the Saudis care as they move in and take over… doubt it!
