I thought the WBCs decision was both fair and just. You cannot expect a fighter of Devin Haney's statue to rush back from taking such a potentially career altering beating which affected his overall bottom line. His marketability and earning power. That Garcia bout cost Haney in the $Millions as only one promoter bid for the fight and that was Top rank because most boxing promoters believe that he is damaged goods now. Which is why Haney is being forced to sue Garcia for losses and damages from their fight.

lol all are using today one was caught the other wasn’t. Just like late 80s and early 90s Holyfield et al were using and would take monumental beatings from PED users. Did they go whine and cry? I see this as part of Haney's legal pursuit. claiming he is “physically, mentally and emotionally” unfit because of Garcia's actions. He very well could be all of those things. And if I'm on his team, why come back so soon for a low $ fight against a spoiler like Sandor Martin? If more PED users get sued and lose maybe that will help the PED problem. Wilder sued Povetkin and won.

This!! PED use is rife and creates uneven contests. State authorities and promoters turn a blind eye. Most trainers turn a blind eye as I can't believe they wouldn't know their fighter was doping. For one reason or another - but mostly greed - they all have no incentive to clean up the sport.
But a successful Haney lawsuit (much as I don't like him or his dad) resulting in Garcia giving up his PPV earnings would set a precedent and at least give pause for thought before going down the route of PEDS.
That said i'm not convinced Haney isn't on them and it would be hysterical if Ryan counter-sued.

Who got Haney all that money vs Ryan? Who was the A side? Martin - Haney is an unattractive matchup that will struggle to make money so nobody is over-paying for it. If it had been Haney vs Teo and somehow it went to purse bid then there would be several bidders.

There's so much WBC fughery going on there. Why was Puello, as interim champ, not the guy getting a mandatory shot at Haney, and why was Martin getting an ordered shot before the interim champ? WBC is so ******.

Glad Devin is taking this time to rest and let his dad and team worry about the fallout.

His first step to rebuild, pick up an easy strap, then go after Ryan or Teo.

His schtick is up. He’s been shown to be what all already knew. Garcia is a really good fighter but not even top tier. Huggies and Daddy Huggies knows his career is over. Top tier fighters with any power whatsoever will walk him down and destroy his fragile chin.

Even before the fight, I was one of the only ones who stated that if Garcia's mind was right, he was going to expose Haney's weak chin.

But I had no idea that Garcia was going to purposely miss weight and load his body with PEDs.

I have no problems calling a fighter overrated, among other things. But I have a problem when fighters cheat and potentially puts another fighter's life and career in jeopardy.

I look at fighters like Collins and Cotto who were never the same after receiving unjust punishment from their cheating opponents.
