this is another fight that is past it's sell by date - but at least this time it's not because Bam is waiting Estrada out - this is just about the earliest it could happen although you could make the argument that the logical next opponent after beating Cuadras and Sor Rungivisai was Estrada - so maybe there was a slight duck there - but we still got the Edwards matchup which was a hotter matchup on paper than it turned out to be

The fight really couldn't have happened earlier. Bam would never have stepped in front of his older brother, and the fight is now more marketable after Estrada beating big bro and promotional buddy Chocolatito, and Bam dismantling Edwards to become a unified two division champ. It was smart of him to get the 112 belts while he could still make the weight as well.

Estrada likely wouldn't have taken the fight without the aforementioned factors. He's been on top in this division for something like a decade and multiple title reigns, but has done almost no unification fights. He's been ducking Ioka for years now. I'm hoping that Bam wins just because he DOES want that smoke, and there's huge fights in Japan for him if he wins, vs Ioka and Kosei Tanaka, and then potentially the gauntlet at 118. The Japanese boxing scene is the biggest in the world right now for the lighter weights, and littered with guys who will likely have good claims to the HOF when their careers finish.

Fights gonna be fire Tim stated that bam should be considered for the p4p list, which he is, I looked last night and bam is #9 p4p. He’s been my favorite active fighter currently, I’m glad he’s on it but I disagree with that placement. He’s behind Tank and Errol which is nonsense Respective to the divisions he’s competing at, he’s facing better opponents than Tank imo, Errol ahhhh inactive and recent fight is stoppage loss he’s defeated good fighters prior which I don’t dismiss he belongs top 10 just above a multi divisional undefeated Champ.
