For some reason I thought this article was gonna be some ol' garbage but it is, in fact, amazing.
Also, what in tF made Big George think he had a single thing for Vitali at that point in time? Looooool & why didn't he think he had anything for Lennox?
There are a few fights where you remember watching and the events surround it in vivid detail. This is one for me.
An old childhood friend was in town for his wedding, another childhood friend was staying at my place to attend the event. As the reception dragged on, my friend and I decided to ditch the event early with an Irish exit. When I got back to the house I rented with my brother, I saw he brought back three very attractive girls (two of which were from Europe and aware of Klitschko). The six of us sat back in my living room and watched the gripping brutality.
Lennow Louise was an over rated fraud. Vitali had the beating of him and the manner in which the cut was caused by Lennox Louise's cheating was disgracefully unpunished. Only desperate brits recognise the fight as a win for Louise - the same man who took Tyson to court to stop him taking a warm up fight mwaning Tyson had boxed hardly any rounds over a four year period leading up to that fight. A prime Tyson would have tooknout Louise in less than 2 rounds.
Every inch of your post is beyond laughable. Nothing redeemable about it.

I thought the same thing, but I read it and thanks to the author for the memories that he brought back.
The fight was a battle between to giants of the sport, who both had long, and distinguished reigns during their career/era.
I remember Klitchko, hurting Lewis several times, and like he said in the post fight interview if not for the huge cut he would've defeated Lewis.
Lewis did show a massive amount of heart in this fight, because he was getting rocked by a proven knockout artist (Dr. Steel Fist).

Lewis cheated “by throwing an illegal/dirty punch”’with the intention of causing a cut”? Is that what the absurdity of your above comment is supposed to imply? Lewis an “overrated” fraud? Even more absurd - ducked no one and defeated every fighter he faced. Holyfield, Tua, Tyson, Golota, Ruddock, Morrison, Mercer, Rahman, Bruno..beat ALL significant HWs of that era..with Bowe the lone exception bc Bowe blatantly ducked Lewis. Prime Tyson v Prime Lewis - see Prime Tyson v Douglas! I can only hope your above post was a joke and meant to be as comical as it is!!
This was fight was endlessly debated, with Lewis fans finally having enough and just replied with TKO6.
I do think if not for the cut Vitali would've went on to defeat Lewis, probably by late KO. I also reckon that if Lewis agreed to the rematch he would've been sparked by now the much more confident Vitali.
In any case Lewis was 37 and in the twilight of his career, he had nothing else to prove and good on him for retiring when he did. As unsavory and unsatisfying his last win was, it was still nonetheless a win. Instead of chasing money he solidified himself in the history books by not adding any unnecessary L's, and going down as a true ATG worthy of the top 10.
