I guess his style isn’t well suited for moving up

best he disciplined to fight at 168 for long as possible

175 for the twilight of his career

The title of this article is a bit misleading.

It’s pathetic that your career depends on making a 20 lbs+ cut, whereas you’d be eating through a straw for life if you had a same day weigh in.

Benavidez should try to get the canelo fight while staying busy fighting Berlanga , Munguia ect.

David Benavides dominated last night even if he was a bit winded towards the end. He gave a solid performance in spite of his hand injury and this being his first foray into the light heavyweight division. No the man didn't look like Mike Tyson circa 1988 (then again who does) but he gave a solid, dominant
workman like performance where im sure if he stays there he will get accustomed to the weight class and be a serious threat to the top ten and perhaps an aging And routinely injured Beterbiev. Bivol? Not too sure because Bivol is a master boxer who judges And controls distance EXTREMELY WELL. However Benavides has VERY HIGH DURABILITY And an engine that operates top shelf. His defense is underrated and his constant pressure is a serious issue for anyone in front of him.I give this performance a b to b plus ➕. It will be interesting to see how he does with two good hands and having become more comfortable at 175. That to the side, I have to say this comments section is just low grade bowing to the worst common denominator. The Incels are out in full force slagging off Benavides for no other reason than the fact that they are Canelo jockstrap, Lickety lap fanboys who have to be the most sorry bunch of teddy boys ive ever seen, even out doing Mayweather fans in the butt moisturizing category. They even give MAGA loons a run for their money with their cult like hard mentality.

Seriously, Benavides dominated in a workman like performance where he obviously looked regular in spots thanks obviously in part to this being his 1st fight at 175, the injury and to last he given to his opponent who was TOUGH and durable. The same opponent who gave a more prime Beterbiev a legit killer, a darn good tussle before he finally succumbed to the Russians heavy handed power. The Ukranian was UP for this fight and put in hard work to be ready. This is boxing, nothing is written in Stone. So Benavides puts in a workman like performance and now these phony boxing fans who are really just "laptop **** talking safe from the side lines" teddy boys, want to say the most ignorant ******ity they can pull out of their a***s, slagging off the man.Personally I can see Benavides having a real shot to take Beterbiev due to the latter's style and increasing age. However I don't see him beating Bivol because Bivol is a technician supreme who from a stylistic standpoint, would be all wrong for Benavides. That notwithstanding Benavides has made it clear he will campaign in both divisions because he wants to win belts and test himself against the top names in these two divisions. He isn't running from anyone try as the trolls and incels would have one believe with their really weak and pathetic narratives. Just weird behavior mate coming from supposedly men who claim to love the Sport.

I don’t have a problem with a fighter who can admit his limitations. Nothing wrong with going back to 168. Though I’d like to see him mix it up with winner of Bivol/Beterbiev.
