It will be a Chess Match, but it will be at a very high-level!

Yeah, true. Then again, Loma wanting to fight the then-green Davis is the flip side of the coin.

Full disclosure: I’m a fan. Loma is my favorite stylist in this era. He gave us moments of magic we last saw with Floyd and Roy. ATG? No, not based on the spotty record. And that’s his own Napoleonic fault.

He was a 130-lb magician who turned into a 135-lb three card monte dealer. He didn’t belong there, and needed every ounce of wit and guile against the bigger men—especially those draining down to the weight. It made him ordinary, mortal. Watching him hang back in fear from the buzzsaw of Teo’s power was dull and sad, like watching a nuclear scientist with Alzheimer’s try to fill out a Sudoko puzzle.

Now he’s lost a step. Either get back down to 130-lb for a few last victory laps or fight Tank. Or just retire. Personally, I’d pick Tank to hurt him at this stage—not that Loma wouldn’t pull off some good moments. Just not enough of them to make it worth his or our time.

Tank showed me that is getting better last night. Martin isn't great but he is a solid fast fighter. Davis fought smart and showed patience and calmness.

Loma even at this point gives him alot of problems. Loma old is a far better fighter than Tank has faced. Loma hurts him and likely wins a UD. Loma understands angles better than any fighter I've ever seen and his head and footwork are still elite. Tank just needs one to land though.

I'd take Loma by brutal UD if it happened tomorrow. But Loma is living on borrowed time. If his stamina or reflexes age just a little bit, that could be all Tank needs.

I kind of expect Tank to fight someone else for now.

Some military terminology that would apply to Frank Martin are "At Ease", "Fall Out", and "Your Dismissed"!

Loma is too old at 36, but Mayweather was too experienced for Canelo at 36. Terence Crawford is 36 (turning 37). Is he too old for Canelo? Usyk is 37, oh he is a heavyweight so it doesn't count.

The reason why you're saying Loma is too old for Tank is because you're a fan of Loma and your brain is telling you he can't win.
