G wasnt even planning on this fight he was still working his way back into things but admitted he was surprised the offer came to him and wasnt going to turn down the opportunity.

People are remembering him from 6 years ago against adonis stevenson but he was 31 years old and prime then. hes now 37 and inactive against elite competition.

David gassed and has no power at 175, i thought he would stop Gyoz because I thought he would land on him a lot, well he landed on him a lot the first half of the fight and I didnt expect Gvoz to eat them all. David looked good defensively first half an and showed very good handspeed but if he can only fight like that for 6 rounds he is in trouble because he cant knock these guys out.

Beterbiev will eat him alive if he tries to walk down beterbiev with arm punches and beterbiev gets most of his stoppages in the second half I dont see beterbiev tire.

Bivol will take him to school he also doesnt tire and david can get carried away and over commit to shots, he leaves himself open there are countering opportunities there the first half so I see bivol countering the first half, using the high guard to let david blow off some steam and then second half when david is only throwing single shots now with his defense leaking more bivol will take the lead and put it on him.

        Before the Fight

“I take every fight 100 per cent serious. I do not mess around with this. I know one bad performance can put you all the way to the back of the bus. I’ve prepared very hard for this fight, like I do every fight. Four months total in training camp and we leave no stone unturned. I’m not looking past Gvozdyk, but I am looking through him. That means I’m gonna take him out, but I’m prepared for everything he’s gonna bring to the table. Strength, speed, endurance – it’s all 100 per cent.”

        After the Fight

“I was definitely worried about it. I started camp a month and a half ago. I tore a tendon. They told me it wasn’t going to heal in time. They told it needed at least three months. I said, ‘I don’t care. I’m going to keep fighting. I’m going to keep training,'” said Benavidez to the media at the post-fight press conference, talking about having a tendon injury in his right hand and a cut that happened in training camp for his fight against Oleksandr Gvozdyk. “Then I hurt this hand [left], and they told me, ‘You have to take a break for it,’ and I said, ‘No, that’s not going to happen. I’m going to keep fighting.’ Three weeks ago, I’m sparring, dominating three different sparring partners, and in the last round, I got cut. That worried me a lot. “I didn’t think I was going to make it here, but my dad told me, ‘The cut is not too big; we can keep going.’ I put my faith in God because I wanted to get to this fight. I didn’t want to miss out on this event. I didn’t want the fans to miss out because this was a big moment for the fans.

we’ll see if he can redeem himself

a convincing win over Alvarez would make everyone forget about this

Well recently when benny was asked about canelo this is what he said

"I think he’s getting put into a corner now where he’s running out of excuses"

canelo may be running out of excuses but it looks like benny doesnt have that problem yet

The amount of welts on David's face post-fight, and the lack of welts on Gvozdyk post-fight, despite the former seriously outlanding the latter, tells you what you need to know about David's chances at LHW.
