I remember a great story a sports journalist told. He was in a bar with Rocky Marciano & Rocky was approached by a customer who had clearly already had a few. Customer staggers over 'Marciano, you're a bum. I could take you so why don't we step outside?' Rocky replies 'No, I'm sure you're right, why don't I just buy you a beer?' The guy was obviously delighted & ready to tell all his friends he had intimidated the great Rocky into buying him a beer. The journalist couldn't believe his eyes & asked what Rocky was thinking ? Rocky said 'if I punch the guy out & he sues me, it'll cost $1m', if I get into an argument with the guy & he lashes out, that could ruin my next fight & cost, again, $1m. I've bought the fool a bud & it cost me $1, why wouldn't !?

I think guys like Rocky, Sonny Liston & Joe Frazier did just have dignity. That is something that is hard to define but you either got it or you don't. I love & admire all 3 of those guys. If they had lived in the modern era they wouldn't be conducting no feuds via face-chat because they weren't the sort of person that did that. They would much rather just walk up to a guy & say 'you want it, lets have it!'.
