  • Will Turki Alalshiki make Saudi Arabia the Mecca of Boxing?

As many have witnessed, Turki has been putting on some amazing events for the sport.

An undisputed heavyweight bout, another Undisputed potential bout in Bivol vs Biev and so much more in this very short run Turki has in the sport.

Turki is doing what traditional promoters should have been doing since decades ago and his moves are impacting the sport in such a way that he is bringing promoters together to make fights the fans actually want to see.

Will Turki change the Mecca to Saudi Arabia via the Riyadh Season movement??

Not really, as the local audience sucks and the country is boring to visit for foreigners. But they still can pay to move all the good fights to this weird destination for years.

        It won’t last imo
It’s the Mecca of something but certainly not boxing

Not to mention it's too damned far away for most other fans in the world, the women wear burkas, so no hot chicks to ogle, and the place is in the desert!

This, great fights but atmosphere is boring as ****. I care about the results more than viewing the actual fight

Wow, you think it won't last???

Can be, it can be that this is some out-of-nowhere short spurt off glory then diminishing all of a sudden.

              I don't think so though.

                You got a point man.

Looks like many things point to it not being the Mecca

The minute they get viewed , the country itself , in a better light , then they will move on imo
Sportwashing is what they are doing

Too bad Don King will be 93 next August. I would have loved to see him dealing with the other King, via Turki.
