The IBF has no right to exist if they strip Usyk. If their rules ended up with a circumstance where you have to strip an undisputed champion to give his belt to one of two guys he already beat a total of three times, their organization is absolutely worthless and they should all be fired.
Usyk has accomplished his goals and should not hold the undisputed crown hostage for years. Imagine if Tipsy King somehow manages to beat him in the rematch then a trilogy would be necessary to settle the battle of the best in their era. And that can take 1 or 2 years going by the Tipsy King history of negotiating a fight he's not certain of winning.
In my opinion, the best solution Usyk would have offered this situation, if he wants to hold all 4 belts, should be to honour his mandatory obligation first before giving Tipsy King a rematch. It's irrelevant whether he has beaten his mandatory in the past or not, the person has earned that position and he must fight him if he want to hold on that belt. If IBF are serious about their rules they must strip Usyk if he cannot honour his mandatory obligation. The mando has as much, if not more, right to challenge the undisputed champion as the one who already had his chance to become the undisputed champion.Last edited by Boxviewer; 06-04-2024, 07:02 AM.OnePunch likes this.

AJ has contributed immensely in making the hw division interesting and the undisputed championship bout possible. And yet people like you won't give him any credit for what he has done for hw division and boxing in general. He has been the most dedicated champion before Usyk landed on the division.

Oleksandr Uysk is a great fighter, he is the most accomplished active fighter in the entire sport of boxing 'And pound for pound has achieved the greatest individual feats'. But? In my opinion he has had a straight forward route to winning all of his world titles 'Both in the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight Divisions'.
If a Super Six Competition was created when David Haye was in the cruiserweight division 'Then Haye would of most likely became the Undisputed World Champion. I personally have always regarded as a Undisputed Cruiserweight World Champion, he won the Ring ****zine Belt, WBC, WBO, WBA titles.
The only reason why David Haye was not crowned as a Undisputed Champion, was because O'Neil Bell who was the IBF Champion was stripped of his IBF titles before fighting the rematch and losing to Jean Marc Mormeck. 'David Haye knocked out Jean Marc Mormeck, who at the time had beaten every single opponent he had ever fought, due to Mormeck avenging his loss to Bell'.
So what you are saying is correct, in some ways? Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and even Deontay WIlder all together have cleared out the Heavyweight Division. And it is Anthony Joshua who out of those three dominant Heavyweights of this era, has pretty much done most of the clearing out.
Once Oleksandr Uysk moved into the Heavyweight, it was just a matter of him ambushing the division 'And then taking all the titles. It is still a monumental feat of achievement, but? It would of been a way more difficult take for him if he would of enter into the Heavyweight Division even just a few years earlier'.
Note: This is why I have always been adamant that, Oleksandr Uysk being embroiled in rematches and trilogies at Heavyweight 'Is potentially where he is going to be beaten'. I have made myself very clear, if the 3rd fight between Joshua and Uysk is ever called for? I will back Anthony Joshua for the win. The trajectory of that match up between those two fighters, suggest that it is Joshua who was improving his effort'.
I have spoken about this before, and it is actually due to Oleksandr Uysk stylistically as a fighter 'Uysk's best attributes as a fighter are his skills game, and endurance. Those attributes particular at Heavyweight, force him to fight top level fighters in a very difficult way'.
Oleksandr Uysk is ether going to out score his opponents at top level, or out last them with his endurance 'We have seen this in all of his top level Heavyweight fights. They have all to a certain extent, been difficult fights for Uysk. But that is because Uysk's best attributes only really allow him to win in this manner'.
Anthony Joshua on comparison, his best attributes as a Heavyweight fighter 'Allow him to ether make fights easy or difficult. Joshua's operational window is more vast than Uysk's at Heavyweight. Joshua can out box top level Heavyweights, systematically break them down or completely obliterate and destroy them'.
For a fighter like Oleksandr Uysk to be embroiled in rematches and trilogies' with fighters like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua 'At some point in my opinion, a fighter like Anthony Joshua is most likely going to find a way to make the fights even more closer' etc.

Fury and Usyk both were well aware of IBF rules, and signed the rematch anyways. This was not a surprise to anyone.
Dubois and Joshua are 0-3 against the champ. they can wait

Does anyone care about the real champion anymore?
