Indeed! Sad how this thread immediately and predictably became populated by haters and naysayers. Wilder had a fantastic run for a guy who did not have the tool box of so many other punchers. basically he had that scary Billy Jack shiat going on "I am going to take this right hand, plant it on your face and there is not a thing your going to do about it!"

Also, a lot of these so called "B level" guys like Beazel became such AFTER Wilder showed them the error of their ways. Aside from that? People disparaged Ortiz to Make Wilder less of a fighter when Ortiz won lots of great fights.

Wilders Trilogy with the Gypsy King was fantastic.

My only nagging thang is...Wilder did not look shot, neglected, unable his last fight... he looked confused. He looked rusty and overwhelmed. Where as he would usually dance away from his opponent and come ambushing across the ring, he stayed in front of Zhang... He even willingly went into the corner. This was strange. Not like him at all.

I like Juggernaut's suggestion as it applies strictly to Wilder: Go Bridgeweight, get your rust out, fight at a proverbial lesser weight, and if you get back in the groove, you (Wilder) know you can beat the best of the larger fellows with your punch.

Anybody who thinks that Deontay Wilder wasn't a great fighter doesn't know anything about fighting.

Who's resume can't be picked apart in boxing? Some fans are critical and tune in to see fighters take a beating, while others come to witness the very best of human courage and endeavor.

How much of Wilder's inability to unleash his bombs is to do with being shot, gunshy or high net worth, we can't know with certainty.

But at Wilder's current age, Dempsey was 6 years retired, Louis was a year past being dumped out of the ring by Marciano, Ali was taking a pounding from Trevor Berbick, Bowe was 9 years past taking back to back beatings administered by Golota, Tyson was getting hammered by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, and Holyfield, Lewis and Klitschko had all suffered a load of far worse KO'S to far worse opponents than anyone that Wilder ever lost to.

So I don't understand any talk about Bridgerweight or having another go.
Whatever great things Wilder was born to do in the ring, he's done em'.

Probably made to order for the Prime Wilder. Klitschko was better at EVERYTHING than even the Best Wilder.

When Fury lost his 0, I defended him.
So defending Wilder seems natural.
And when Usyk gets his first loss, I'll maintain an educated and balanced perspective, and defend him too.
