Did Artur have surgery I cant find a definite on whether he did or not, from what Ive read if he did have surgery to be in tip top fight shape in 4mths will be a task.

Meniscus repair recovery time is typically six to nine months depending on the activities of the patient. Most meniscus repair surgeries require two to four weeks on crutches with a knee brace for the first six weeks. Physical therapy starts right away to help the knee regain range of motion. Most patients are out of the brace by six to eight weeks. Jogging typically begins around three to four months with return to sports around six to nine months depending on the level of play of the athlete and the type of repair.

Man that meniscus is your stability and balance of your knee, it feel like itâll just go sideways or backwards when damaged or torn. I donât know if heâs having surgery, but I hope so, bc healing a meniscus takes forever!
Looking forward to the fight, just want it to be fair.
I get it. I still cant ever lay with that leg straight. Have to keep it propped under the knee when laying in my back.

For most people it's a 6-8 week recovery when they do surgery to shave off a torn meniscus. Even an older guy like Beterbiev has more than enough time to recover before October.
That's surprising to me that guys can play NBA after removing part of their meniscus. Course, it can be damaged at all different levels (from not so bad to terrible) and depending on your income, they probably have all kinds of fancy treatment options.

They removed most of mine. I could still run and work out and stuff, but Im not gaming at pro level either.

Sounds like you simply had a much more severe version of the injury than these other guys. Tough break.

Most of the guys who opt for the shave are back to 100% in the short term, but after they retire they end up with arthritis and knee mobility issues as they age.

Sometimes they opt for the repair instead of the shave, and if that takes it's a much better option. But the repair sometimes doesn't take, and whether it works or not it takes you out for a much longer period of time. So most athlete opt for the shave, trading long term knee pain for short term performance because they don't want to lose a lot of time in their athletic primes.

HGH and stem cell therapy can do wonders for injuries like this

So Beterbiev will be even slower.

An easy win for Bivol. Artur can punch, but he is easy to get hit and his foot work was never great.
