Zhang performed far better than Wilder vs Parker. He had a chance to finish Parker after the 2nd knockdown but he couldn't due to empty tank whereas Wilder didn't even land just one meaningful punch on Parker. No one would have complained if Zhang had gotten the nob vs Parker. So, your criticism should be aimed at Wilder if you're honest.

Boxing a funny game. We saw both Zhang and wilder against Parker so wed pick Zhang to beat wilder on that basis you'd think?
Just like you'd pick pac to beat Floyd as he beat hatton or dlh more dominant then floyd did?
But maybe Parker sees wilder as more athletic, and is relieved wilder didn't throw hell for leather at him? So Parker thinks wilder has more to give and something left in him.

he said after Wilder fight that he felt his power a few times. And I'm sure he knows too that Wilder is a lot faster than Zhang and that Zhang is almost 80 now.

I think the same as Parker - could go either way but I favor Wilder to win it. You saw the Helenius fight right? Helenius is no mug

If Parker was not scared of Zhang the first time and easily out pointed him, why would he be scared to fight him a second time? His movement can help avoid the knock downs and wear out the big guy while he peppers him with counters. History shows Parker would win going away, and history also shows Parker fights most everyone.

Am I the only one who is just meh about Parker :/ He's tough, decent, and competitive, but a 6/10 at best. He doesn't excel at anything, he has no particular style, no signature punch, chin isn't great, only defended his WBO title twice, lost to Whyte. He may have beaten Zhang and Wilder but I don't see him being a world champ again.

We do not really know how old Zhang is. The claim is 41. He is probably closer to 50. If Wilder survives the early rounds, then I believe that he cracks Zhang with multiple unanswered punches and stops him. This is the epitome of a crossroads fight!

Agreed 100%. I just never thought much of Parker as an elite guy. More of a test for the top guys. Can't knock him though. He has done pretty well for himself. One of life's overachievers!

Don't forget though that Parker's record trashes most of these guys coming up. He lost some fights but he hasn't been ducking fights like most of these people. Zhang has only beaten Joyce so far and then lost to Parker. Hrogovic has only beaten Zhang and no one else. Parker is now only one of two people to beat Wilder and is the only fighter who wasn't put down by him.

A lot of these fighters have hype behind them but Parker has been in the top-10 for a long time now. I prefer proven over unproven guys

I think Wilder may have a little more in the tank than people think. Zhang is 41 and 282 pounds. Wilder appears to be the more fit of the two for going the distance.

Another typical Boxing scene article: title makes you believe that it is about one thing, and when you open it, you get paragraph after paragraph of filler about something completely different, and then, at the very end, there is a sentence or two about the actual topic of the article. Complete garbage.
