I wonder why? I know they've used him for sparring before.

Nah, the guy who was basically knocked out cold by Bailey over the summer.

What I don't like is that they are being shady about why he's getting sent home. When Figueroa was pressed for answers, he laughed and said "good luck Cotto."

That scares the **** outta me. Although I literally refuse to believe that he was giving Cotto any problems.

I think Arum ha da lot to do with this decision. Arum just watched them spar like yesterday, and then he is sent home. Arum must have not liked what he saw.

Maybe Team Cotto/Bob Arum didn't like the way Figueroa was throwing in his own moves,They Probably wanted him to focus purely on emulating pacquiao's technique. But wasn't to successful

In my experience as a trainer, I have to say this is weird. 1 week is not enough time to get good work in.

I think it can come down to a few reasons.

#1 - He was getting the best of Cotto ( I doubt this)

#2 - He was arguing with the trainers or demanding certain things that they didn't like

#3 - He wasn't doing Cotto any good (Then why call him in the first place, especially if you ahve worked with him before)

                Strange scenario.

Didn't Pacquiao send his sparring partner home also to bring in Castillo?

it's also interesting that Arum commented that Cotto 'still has work to do' after dismissing Gato
