I understand supporting his son, but I don't understand all of this speaking for him. His son is a grown man.

His house of cards collapsed. His son was weight-bullying at 135, got a gift in a Loma fight after getting schooled, and finally met his match in a B-level fighter who is his size. Haney's 165 lbs on fight night didn't give him the size advantage he has in previous fights. He agreed to go on with the fight despite Ryan being 3 lbs over. They are handling this loss as bad as Wilder did his two losses to Fury. Delicate bunch.

Theres been a lot of dads talking more for their boxer sons in this last decade & change. Its become a thing.

I don't think Bill is crazy by any measurement. I think they moved great overall. Granted things went sideways in the Ryan fight beyond the fight imo. Idk why they 1)didnt fight Barboza since Ryan missed weight or 2)at a minimum make Ryan do a day off weigh in. But no one leaves boxing unscathed so you are bound to find an L in the ring or out of it with boxing business.

because he peaked 20 years ago and is getting his validation through the achievements of his son. And when his son failed, he is struggling to come to terms with it.

That, or he's just an insufferable jackass

John Fury is the ultimate dad. He's the dad we all wish we had.

A few boxing dads do. Kenny Porter, Teofimo's dad, Angel Garcia, Robert Garcia's dad, they all seem to live vicariously through their sons.

Floyd had a rough go with TR before he split. Believe he had to pay Bob $750k to get out of his contracts. L's dont just happen in the ring as I said.
