And Charlo was last seen in the ring 9 months since. Eight more months of waiting if you're lucky.
Jermell is still tricking off the Canelo bag. He's not fighting anyone dangerous anytime soon.

Meaning, they're okay with Crawford to wait around some more considering the winner is expected to take a long rest and who knows when he's ready to come back. Not to mention a lot of things can change or happen drastically in a week, let alone months, like injuries, or some new kid on the block appears and gains attention. Who would have thought Mardrimov would become part of the conversation? What if he didn't? Will the waiting continue, no problem?
Like I already said, it's a business not a sport. Where else can you find fans recommend to an already dormant fighter to wait around some more? That he should fight the winner of a scheduled fight that is months away, not even considering the fact that the winner would have to take long months of rest and God knows when he is going to come back. These are fans we are talking about, not team members.

He has to fight someone dangerous when he decides to come back. Otherwise, the paycheck for tuneups might not even cover training expenses. Tuneups at this stage of his career are meaningless and a waste of time. After the tuneup, then what, reappear after another year?

This was the fight I was most looking forward to, too bad. Hope they can reschedule in the fall. Whatever happened to Danny Garcia? Hasn't fought in almost two years after moving up to 154. He'd be a good opponent but he doesn't seem interested in taking those type of risks.

Ortiz hasn't really made a big name for himself so it will be difficult to find a big name to take Tszyu's place. Too much risk for too little reward.

I'll never understand such wanton tolerance of inactivity coming from fans themselves as if they have nine lives to live.

When you split someone's head open down to the white meat, it takes awhile to heal. I gun butt a lame once and his head split open like a pig's feet

Won't be the last time we'll hear fans suggest to an already inactive fighter that he wait around some more and fight the winner of such and such fight as if the winner would be ready in a week after the fight. Their sense of time is out of sync.
