This is sad! The last American HW star fighting in Saudi on a platform and network that nobody watches in America that is run by a oil tycoon and a Russian war criminal. I forgot thus fight was happening and I'm a boxing guy. No buzz at all in America. Damn...fuqing sad!

This one is used all the time to describe fighters who at least got revenge against those who defeated them. Its no different than saying, "up until Parker, Deontay Wilder floored every man he faced." Even though Stiverne went 12 rounds with him in their first fight.

I actually like the phrase, I think its a good way to note that there is a bit of chance out there in the ring, sometimes the fighter who is consistently better, isn't better on a given night. But at least that fighter who lost came back and showed, or at least provided evidence, that they are better than the man who beat them. And I think most people recognize the meaning of the saying.

It's wordplay/propaganda for their man that's all...

But Wilder never dropped/stopped every opponent he ever faced like "they" used to claim, he never dropped Duhaupas and he never dropped Greene Jr nor did he stop Stiverne the first time but they still ran with the narrative for years afterwards...

In the case of Joshua is he really the "better man" if he beats Usyk in a third fight!?

While that is true, it also hides the fact that those guys got beat. Embarrassingly if I may add.
Think about the young guys that never saw Lennox fight, when they read that statement, a picture is painted in their minds, that Lennox beat everyone he faced even though he got KO’d twice.
