That's funny, I don't recall them mentioning Sugar Ray Robinson anywhere in this post.

I sure hope not. If so that means that when Moses rises in the ranks he will fight older, faded fighters, duck the biggest challenges and bore the hell out of the majority of fans by holding and going into a shoulder roll shell on the ropes all fight.
I was expecting more from Moses. I hope he doesn't lose the excitement once he steps up.

For me Floyd > Ali > SRR

But I respect your opinion.. they're almost interchangeable etc.

How do you manage a 19 year old heavies career as good as he is?

You couldn't throw him in with Wardley or Big Fraze for a long time. Maybe he could win but he could also get decimated and ruin his whole career before it gets started.

I have no idea what his career arc will look like. Should he be fighting for a southern area title in the next year?

For how pundits speak about him - people must have seen him spar established top heavies and beat them up.

Moses Itauma is just 19 and being brought along slowly enough to start peaking at around 23. By then we should have a good idea if the most optimistic projections for him are accurate. But it's very early right now to guess.

They took him out of the amateurs very early, instead of waiting around to see how he would stack up in that format against the likes of Cuba's Arzola Alejandro, Austria's Hagad Ahmed, Kazakhstan's Kunkabayev Kamshybek, Spain's Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui, Italy's Diego Lenzi, Croatia's Marko Milun and Luka Pratljacic, Azerbaijan's Abdullayev Mahammad, Algeria's Kadi Mourad, Armenia's Chaloyan Davit, Uzbekistan's Mullojonov Lazizbek and Jakhongir Zokirov, Egypt's Rezk Mozstafa Yousry, Canada's Marcel Jerome Feujio, America's Joshua Edwards and Jamar Talley, Brazil's Abner Teixeira, Australia's Teremoana Jnr, Georgia's Nikoloz Begadze, the UK's Delicious Orie and the others who are jockeying now for a trip to the Olympics.

It's a gamble of course, just as risking him marinading there too long might be.

Some day: if Deontay Wilder never gets Anthony Joshua in the ring, perhaps Jared Anderson might have better luck coaxing Moses Itauma into a fight.

He's going the right way, I just hope he don't get pushed too fast. Hopefully he gets the chance to win his first proper title against the Dacres/Adelaye winner before the years out. In fact the Wembley show that's being mooted for late Summer/early Autunm would be perfect!
