Pointless designation, he's not going to return to 147 anyway. He should just vacate all of his welterweight titles. He's probably just holding onto them so he can be introduced as a "reigning champion" when he challenges Madrimov in August.

      The title buries the lede:

Who cares about champion in recess status, the bigger news is that the WBC has sanctioned Crawford vs Madrimov as a world title final eliminator.

So the winner of Fundora vs Spence must face the winner of Crawford vs Madrimov, otherwise the Crawford vs Madrimov winner will get to fight current interim champion Serhii Bohachuk for the WBC title.

I doesn`t really matter, Crawford is moving up. To be honest, I think Madrimov beats him.

There's a lot going on @ 154! Tszyu vs. Ortiz Jr., Crawford vs. Madrimov, and Fundora vs. Spence! Would like to see Jesus Ramos back in action soon!

Who cares, thats just more money in his pocket, saving from them robbery sanctioning fees for holding the belts. How tf are there 4 or 5 champions in each weight class anyways

What is this "Champion in recess" ?? They should warn him and then strip him. None of this made-up title nonsense!

Wbc are the worst for enforcing mandos. Good luck thinking this means anything
