The ref saved Fury--he was out on his feet. That deprived Usyk of a fabulous KO. Fury had a 40 lb weight advantage and still almost got KOd. I keep saying boxing needs a super-heavyweight divison from 230 lbs and up.
Are you not contradicting yourself here? If Usyk almost KO'd Fury and won the fight against a much bigger man, why the need for a super-heavyweight division?
Usyk is a special case but he also proved that if you're 200lbs+, you can do damage to anybody.
I always thought that when Fury eventually lost that he'd be magnanimous about it. I thought he'd accept that the better man in the night won.
He's actually surprised me with this. And Warren is just making himself look like a fool backing it up. You can tell in his interviews that he doesn't really believe it.
It's not a fair equivalency though. This Nichols guy got KO'd by every fighter he lost to and clearly was not a high level boxer. He was a big fat guy with very limited skills and never beat a fighter with a win.

I wasn't surprised one bit. Fury is full of crap. He talks nonsense on a daily basis and contradicts himself regularly. He's got no class. It was embarrassing when he claimed the reasons the judges sided with Usyk is because his country is at war. What a load of rubbish.
I think fury is a bit frustrated because I really think he thought he had measure of usyk by middle rounds, and fury is confused and scratching his head where it all went wrong.?
Fury probably feel he's been mugged and pickpocketed out of win, stolen from under his nose.
Fury may be "very philosophical" but Usyk is very feel.
Also, not sure if that was the intention, but the phrasing at the beginning of the article states matter-of-factly that Fury was winning the fight until the 9th round, as if that is a general consensus, which is definitely not the case.
