If I'm not mistaken wasn't it Marco Antonio Barrera who wanted those Japanese gloves, and they were too small for Morales' hands so he had to cut them a little bit?

Though he won convincingly, the fight was still exciting and close. I'm almost sure there will be a rematch.

In a fight as close as this, IMO, you need to win at least twice against your opponent. MAB has accomplished that against EM. In that scenario, the trilogy may have been over and can make EM feel ****** if MAB refuses a rematch.

i'm sorry but i still think Morales's journey isn't complete yet. I'd like to see him become a **** ass against a bigger P4P fighter while moving up in weight, not against a blown-up 122-pounder. Castillo and Corrales come to mind.

Yep. Tentative and a bit sluggish. He seemed heavy. Morales was getting off before him. But it was a heack of a fight no matter what.

Not that I think that the outcome of the fight would change, but its still nice to fight with your gloves.

Agree with you on that bro. The only thing I cannot understand is why Erik wants his opponent to wear the same gloves.

If Erik loves this gloves why he insists that his opponents wear the same. I bet he knows something about wearing them that gives him an edge but would trouble his opponent.

I could be wrong but then again why he insists that his opponent wear this Winning if all gloves are the same?

You had it reversed. Morales wanted the japanese gloves. He forced MAB to use it coz he was the champ before that 3rd fight.

Who ever believes that the gloves do not matter in a fight is mistaken. I said it in another thread but with one glove you could take a good shot and be dazed from it. With another glove you could be dazed and confused. There is definately a difference between brands of gloves.

The reason that morales wants his opponents to wear the same gloves is simple, both men should have the same tools to work with. if morales wore the japenese gloves and pac wore the reyes gloves then pac would then gain an advantage...............Rockin'

But I think last night, the bigger problem was Manny's weight.

Last time Pac fought MAB. He weighed in at 124 and only 128 on fight time. Pac was 137 at JMM's fight time. Then now with Erik its 139.

Maybe a bigger weight is a handicap.

I don't know how he blew up that much. I thought the plan was coming in at 136 and weighing in at 127.

I dont know about the weight discrepancies, I did not see the fight or really hear that much about the weights.. All that I was stating was that there are big fifferences between different brands of gloves. Earlier in the thread there were those who claimed that the gloves do not make a difference at all. Thanks for the insight though on the weight issue........Rockin'
