We need to revert back to same day weigh ins.
Gatti gained 17 pounds on day of the fight with Joey Gamache and brutally KO’d him. That fit gained a lot of attention and there was talk of changing rules and weigh-in protocols over 17 pounds. Pazienza insists he was putting on 20-30 pounds on the day of some of his fights. Spence and Crawford each walk around at 180+. I would bet Floyd was at least 165 or better for his fights with Marquez, Manny, and several others where he refused to get on the scale day of the fight.

How can Floyd step on the scales with Canelo and weigh 150 fight night and with a 146 weighin weigh 165 with JMM, this is just total BS because you dont know how look at the weights across 20 yrs of his career, he weighed on fight night more times than Manny did lol, for Floyd to be 165 and look the way he does is impossible knowing the factual weights including his weigh ins for exhibitions over his career.

Didn't Crawford do a lot of it too?

Khabib and other dagestanis pioneered weight bullying strategies in the UFC. They damn near killed themselves to make weight and end up putting on a Devin Haney level of poundage after weight in.

Maybe Canelo deserves some credit too

Haney just can't punch. But as far as taking a punch, not everyone will hit him like Ryan. Ryan's left hook is vicious. It can stumble anyone up to 154.

I don't know man. I can't judge until I see him with his next fights against competitive opponents. I have to see him with Jamaine Ortiz, Richard Commey, Jose Ramirez, Catterall, Sandor Marin, etc. Even Masayoshi Nakatani will do for me. You know, fighters that Loma, Lopez and others fought just for comparison purposes, not retired Gamboa or Linares. Let's see how he will do.

Let’s send him up to 154lbs where he will be able to take punches better then.

No but seriously, some fighters just can’t take a punch. Khan couldn’t take a punch at 135, 140, 147, or 155.

But a small/skinny Linares hurt him as well. Not quite like Ryan Garcia but that’s what it will look like when Haney fights a power puncher of his own size. Haney was bigger than Linares.

He was also bigger than Prograis, who never even touched Haney anyway.

lol floyd was weighed multiple times at 150 on fight night. he was not all of a sudden 15 pounds heavier than that because it fits your narrative. the real world doesnt work that way
