      Yuriokis Gamboa vs Juanma Lopez.

Anyone remember when they tried to "marinate" that fight? Then Lopez got battered by Salido in what was meant to be an easy fight.

This marinating and "building" ruins the sport. Back in the "good old days", when we wanted to see two fighters fight, they fought, pretty much straight away.

Perfect example of this, the fight should have been made while they were on a roll but no.....lets "marinate" and it never even happened later.

It was made worse by Gamboa beating Salido prior to the JuanMa fight so now it wasn't like Salido could be thrusted into the spot JuanMa was in and Gamboa had no dance partner at 126.

Then Usyk came along, took their belts and beat them both. Leaving a fight between the two worth far less than it could’ve been.

I hope other fighters take note.
Its a boxing match not abfooken womans soap opera. SMH, get a life.

Juanma had such a short shelf-life. Those fights with Siri literally shattered him. To see a fighter literally get the prime beaten out of him was a bit sad and disturbing.

I liked Juanma Lopez but yeah he was a very flawed fighter, his fight with Rogers Mtagwa let me know his ceiling, he got beat up badly in that fight.

I remember when he signed to fight Salido, and I said Salido had a good chance, and a certain know it all poster who still posts the same way to this day (I won't name and shame ) was telling me how much of a mismatch it was. I just didn't see it, for me, Salido was BY FAR the more skilled fighter of the two, and it showed in both fights.

That second fight especially was awesome because Juanma did make some adjustments, which I didn't expect but in the end it went the same way, but what a fight though.

For all of Fury's faults, he does have a high boxing IQ and is a boxing historian. The motivation of a loss may do him good. Everybody thought his strategy for Wilder 2 was crazy, but it worked to a T and he put a beat down on Wilder. Usyk won both his fights vs Joshua, but the 2nd was definitely closer and more difficult for Usyk. I can definitely see a scenario where Fury makes a few adjustments (more fighting in the center of the ring, more clinching and leaning on the inside, escaping to the left to avoid Usyk's left hook etc) and can certainly win a rematch. Hell, I thought the fight was won for Fury after the 6th or 7th, so Fury winning a rematch would not shock me at all.

I think it generates about 50% of what it once could have. Will still be multi-millions but it won’t be the mega fight it could’ve been.

I still had him beating AJ. Got the slips to prove it too

If each fighter gets another win the match up will sale.
