He might need to clean up a few more like flip, parker then he's be top 8. He's got 2 great names on resume. Maybe needs another big name.

Pulled victory from the jaws od defeat with that 9th round too. Fury was starting to lang hard right hands and uppercut. He hurt usyk multiple times.

        What a performance be Usyk.
Credit to Fury for finally giving Usyk a run for his money. That match was a toss-up.

While I agree that it's impressive how he bridged the gap on Fury, I think the guy moving up has all the advantages. He has more speed, he's used to other people being faster, and he's a heavyweight (or else they wouldn't sanction it). The one thing the natural heavyweight has might work against him.

          Tough question.

His two wins against AJ and now one against Fury are probably better wins than Larry Holmes, Jack Dempsey, Jack Johnson, Sonny Liston, or either Klitschko ever had.

Frazier’s career, no disrespect, is defined by one win, albeit one of the best victories ever, so Usyk may edge Joe.

Louis, Ali, Marciano, Lewis, and Holyfield are, off the cuff, my plus one Rushmore at HW.

Big George is my all time fave, but I find his career odd and hard to define. Destructions of Frazier and Norton are special. He had a poor showing against Ali which is forgivable and again against Morrison which isn’t. Regaining the crown at an advanced age was epic, but Moorer wasn’t exactly a world beater at heavy.

I don’t know. The Cat’s pro career overall is defined by so few but at the same time significant fights that he’s hard to rank.

I will say this. Of the great fighters at any weight I’ve had the pleasure of watching in my lifetime (JCC, RJJ, Floyd, Calzaghe, Oscar, Holyfield, Lewis, Foreman, Bud, Inoue, GGG, Wlad, Hopkins, and so many more) Usyk takes a back seat to no one.

            Frazier has an amazing resume.

I can't take the rest of your post serious after that.

Usyk has 2 great scalps in bag. But if he fought some other heavyweights lower tier than josh and fury, usyk might lose. So it's hard to gauge with so limited fights in the division.

I think Lennox Lewis would have schooled Usyk and Lennox would be too big for Usyk.

His final standing is not set yet, but he also has not lost as many matches as say Holyfield has. Legacy wise he is still going strong.

Head to head wise, I now think he rates within the top 15 of all time. Ask me where when he retires.

He is #1 is his time line, I'll give him that. But I do not think he is a Klitschko( Vitali and Wlad ) or Lewis type of talent.

To be viewed favorably by most American fans he would need to beat a good American. Sadly there aren't any around and have not been any great ones since the 1990's. Bowe and Holyfield.

I tell you the entire heavyweight history would have been different it the eastern europeans went pro in #'s before 1995.

It has been 20 years since Lewis retired in the top spot from 2004-2024. It has been mostly been fighters form Usyk's tribe.

**** Americans lol who cares. Enough of this american-centric discourse. Boxing is a global sport now. The same is happening with basketball where most of the top 10 players are all from other parts of the world. And all of the top 5. Jokic Doncic Giannis soon Wemby.

American sports domination is over get with the times boy
