  • Fury surprised me. Still the second best hw IMO

I must admit, as his ex fan, offended by his lack of ambition in the last years, I was underrating him prior this fight.

Fury is still there, his legs are not like 6 years ago, but skills have never been questionable.

I think Fury still beats everybody not named Usyk , when he comes prepared and focused like this time.

And yeah, I think Fury beats Joshua. Just because Joshua could do some demolition job on Wallin and Ngannou, it doesn`t mean he has something for Fury.

Shame, it will probably never happen.

His shot selection was good and he was surprisingly accurate, he was tagging Usyk with lead uppercuts which was quite impressive, but his stamina is showing the signs of being a fatty and his chin is definatley getting worse. His feet are also slower.

Yeah I thought he boxed really well.

      Obviously so did Usyk.

As a boxing fan sometimes you just have to watch it and just enjoy it. For me this was one of those times.

Two top fighters who turned up and performed.

Usyk is a boxing genius but Fury himself was operating at a very high level in there and again all but getting knocked the f.uck out in round 9 was it? But still coming back and possibly pinching rounds 12 and a debatable 11th. Usyk as well got hurt several times throughout the fight but always found a response.

I wont criticise Fury. I wouldnt say i'm a fan but I can imagine the narrative in this country will tirn against him which is nonsense.

I'd watch these two fight again several times over.

I thought he let this one slipped away. he was winning then went unfocused and undisciplined defensively tried to play around and paid the price.stopped jabbing stopped going to the body. Then bam. The 9th round happened and he was just recovering from that from then on. arguably won the 12th.

I hope he still has it in him to fight a rematch. If not then it was great while it lasted. Confidence, competitiveness and aura of invincibility seems to not be there anymore especially after that Ngannou outing. The drive, fire and belief that he is the best i just didn’t feel it in his words before this fight.

Exactly, he stopped jabbing and throwing any meaningful hard punches. Usyk started taking more risks and becoming more agressive, if you’re gonna let Usyk walk in on you and unload punches without punishing him for getting close then it’s a failing strategy. The Jab needed to be there constantly but the right hand needed to be a weapon for Fury, be ready to punch and make Usyk pay and he just stopped doing it. Yea he could be more vulnerable if he commits to a harder punch, but he wasn’t gonna be able to keep Usyk off him without doing it. Solid punches and to stay disciplined defensively was what Fury needed to do, and lean on him in the clinch when you can.

The reason he stopped throwing the jab was his stamina went.

Usyk was very smart because he started fast and made fury need to chase the fight.

I was very surprised to see fury so willing to give up ground in the first two rounds and allow Usyk to tee off on him on the ropes.

Where was the fury that literally rang across the ring into oncoming fire in the Wilder 2 rematch?

It was ring generalship by Usyk, he doesn't like to start fast but he knew he had to in this fight because then he could dictate pace rather than chasing.

Fury's gas started to go, he didn't have the energy to keep pumping the jab, his feet slowed and Usyk was able to get into mid range which was the one place Fury had to keep him out of!

Fury was tactically poor in this fight, but that wasn't why Usyk took over late, Fury didn't decide to abandon the jab he just couldn't throw it anymore.

He didn't have to drop his guard though, that's what got him caught. He's a goddamn fool

Well Joshua wants it and to me it’s fury who don’t want the smoke that tells you all you need to know…..huge payday for both fighters and we can stop arguing over who beats who…….joshua has always been up for it.

fury won no more than 4 rounds against usyk who was outweighed by 3 stone and yet still managed to push fury back the whole fight…….lets not make
over hype fury performance more than it was, most punches of fury landed on the gloves and he really only had a 3 round stretch from 4-6 and then usyk took over

Because it was such a fast start fury had to try and keep up with him…..when he was 3 down that’s when fury had to further tap into his reserves to pull those rounds back.
For usyk as a conditioned ex cruiser weight it was much easier to maintain such a fast pace than for fury who has to carry around 265 lbs and 6ft 8 frame it’s almost impossible so when usyk once again started his assault in the 8th round fury’s tank was almost empty and that’s when usyk started to really put some feel behind those shots.
That left to fury’s nose really affected him as well as you could see his reaction when he stepped away.

From the 8th round fury was simply overwhelmed and outgunned
What point in the fight are you referring to? because a lot of people were giving the early rounds to Fury. I agree Usyks conditioning was a big factor, but Fury didn't help himself with poor basics in defence.
