Hearn was amazed that Fury didn't just take a knee since he will get a count anyway in that state.

But there is good reason not to go down. If he goes down, he likely can't get up in time.

or if he does, it will be with a complete loss of equilibrium, and 99% of judges call that off.

The fight is is over if he goes down, and so he stayed up.

I don't think he knew what he was doing at that point.

Instinct says stay up and instinct was all he had.

I def agree with your take, it was a close fight, fury started really well with them body shots, well placed uppers and lot movement but Usyk then started to close in distance with his signature sniper left hands(mostly cross and straight lefts) right to Furys nose til he got him really hurt, the gypsy is one tough bastard tho, recovered well and even took the last round imo,but it was little too late for the gypsy, I also agree anything could happen in a rematch, hell, maybe it could end up in a trilogy why not!?!

A trilogy is a real possibility. Too many guys around here going on like Usyk’s victory shut the door. That was a very close fight, as we’ve agreed; anyone could take the sequel. And if Fury does happen to win, which he easily could, then a trilogy is definitely in the cards. These two men are warriors; they would almost certainly want the rubber match. And the money would be insane. There would be zero reason to ever fight again.

I do always find it funny when people like you say things like this.

"Easy fight to score" like just because you scored a debatable round for a fighter then somehow that's now a clear obvious round. Like 116-111 should be a universal scorecard, yet on press row it's one of the rare ones. Do you wonder why that is?

Anyway, obviously not an easy fight to score because there were a number of close rounds in there that could go to either man but the right man won is what matters.

I didn’t watch the fight live. I wound up watching it on YouTube, on a so-so quality representation. But although it wasn’t the ideal video, it seemed to me the fight was far closer than most people around here made it out to be. Lots of Fury-haters on this site, and the bias is evident from many of the scores/posts. As I’ve said before, the ninth round decided it. Everything else was very close, with several hard-to-score rounds. All credit to Usyk, however; I predicted Tyson would win fairly easily. Oleksandr proved me wrong. One of my buddies, a guy who’s been coaching for years, thought it was either a draw or a narrow win for Fury. He lives in London, so I suspect there’s a little bias on his part. Lol Nonetheless, it’s an example of how close this fight really was.

Disagree...virtually all media outlets scored the fight for Usyk plus according to Compubox, he outlanded Fury 7 rounds to 5 plus a knockdown. Therefore, 115-12 was the most accurate scorecard plus there's an argument that bad refereeing saved Fury from being STOPPED in round 9!

Logic seems to elude people, it seems. Every close fight it seems to always be the same. Something like “I had it 9-3! What a robbery!” Well yes but how many of those 9 rounds you scored could be argued for the other guy? 3? 4? Just because your card was wide doesn’t mean the fight wasn’t close. Haney-Lomachenko was a perfect example of that. People having wide cards but failing to understand that most of the rounds were close rounds.

Either way, Usyk was rightful winner.

Literally couldn’t agree more with every word. Usyk had that burst in the 9th that made the difference. The rest of the fight was simply very close, with both fighters having a couple of clearer rounds. Usyk had a great win; no need to overstate his performance. But I don’t see a reason to believe Fury can’t win the rematch. I keep thinking of Ali-Frazier and Ali-Norton. This can be something similar.

If you have to use something called "nerd scoring on punch impact" to make an argument, you know you lost.
Usyk won it 116-111. Both 117-110 and 115-112 are fine.
