Anyone notice how religious Loma has gotten?

He was always christian but lately he's been living, sleeping, breathing the lifestyle of a devout man. Wearing shirts of the holy spirit and jesus, coming out in custom trunks of icons of the holy trinity. Rocking the ic/xc in everyone of his apparel. His walkout song in the Kambosos fight was Psalm 135. His Instagram before the teo fight was just his life like fishing, training, playing other sports, and endorsements. Now his Instagram is full of icon paintings, homilies by priests, and passages from scripture.

I bring it up because in this day and age where social media celebrities and some athletes use their platform to preach religion but at the same time promote degeneracy its clear they are only doing it to gain a following and some clout. "Chirst is king" and converting to islam seems like the cool new wave right now.

Loma on the other hand is really about his faith and doesn't care for the glamour so i respect him in that aspect. A true man of faith. Notice he didnt care what it cost him. In Ukraine some call him a traitor and a Russian shill, notice how Gvozdyk and Usyk are more distant from him.

For context Loma belongs to the eastern orthodox faith, specifically the Ukrainian orthodox church. His church historically had connections and is like the little brother of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church. Which has become a problem in Ukraine since the ROC is accused of being Russian spies and the church is pushing Russian war narratives.

The head of the ROC, Patriarch Kirill, also has close ties with ***** and has been a supporter of the war.

Loma also said some controversial things like in a documentary produced by a Russian Orthodox monastery

“Basically we are one people,” Lomachenko said. “From my childhood, when I was growing up, I had no idea of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, that these are different people, that these are different borders. I always thought that we are one people, that we are all Orthodox Christians. We all live on the same land.”

“If someone mistreats or humiliates your parents, a normal reaction for anyone is to defend them,” Lomachenko said in the Union of Orthodox Journalists interview. “You will stand up for your parents, risking your life if needed. The same works with the Church, the temple, and the Orthodox faith. This is our mother, without whom we would perish. The reaction of any Orthodox person is to stand up in defense.”

“I have a lot of friends in Russia,” Lomachenko said in the Korsun monastery documentary. “I have relatives in Russia. I have rivals from Russia. I communicate with everyone, make friends and maintain relationships. I can’t just stop talking to them because they told me that this is a country that is at war with my country. It doesn’t fit in my head.”

Loma was all about the ukraine war like 2 years ago, but it dragged on and hes seen all the young men from his country get slaughtered and for what? they havent won anything in 2 years. His tune has changed and so what he is entitled to his opinion.

Honestly, I'd rather see him devoted to his faith and boxing, rather than him getting into dumb **** like other boxers these days.

Of course, hes one of the examples of being true to his faith and then we have "Christians" like Ryan Garcia.

Some may argue religion IS mental illness.

Loma: whatever floats his boat, I guess. As long as it doesn’t impede his boxing performances, more power to him. If it does, well, more power to him. His life.

"In his sermon, Longin says that "the Ukrainian state has started a war against God, against the Church of the Lord and against the Ukrainian people,"

loma posted this on his insta account apparently
