Because it would be Joes best opponent losing to a guy that no one really thinks to highly of. You never hear or read anything about Ward being this great fighter.

What a ****** thread, are you trying to cause another mass them vs us arguement with the whole european fighters bit, the same could be said so easily about american boxers if they lose their fights.

Well, we really don't know that much about Ward at this point to determine how much of a negative thing it would be. For instance, if Kessler loses a close fight and Ward goes on to win the whole tournament it wouldn't really bring down his stock much.

It really says nothing because styles make fights, but it would be devastating for the Calzaghe fanboys.

I think it's going to be very difficult for Kessler to win in Oakland.

For one thing, it's the worst possible time zone change. He'll feel like he's fighting at 5 am.

And secondly, the toughest place to win a fight on the scorecards is in an American boxer's hometown. He may box very well, but be robbed like so many others have been in the past. The crowd will have an influence on the judges. But I'm hoping he'll stop Ward and not let it go to the cards.

But yes, Calzaghe haters like the de****able Daggum will make a lot of a Kessler loss in Oakland. But I'm hoping it won't happen.

              Nothing about Calzaghe IMO.

Ward is very skilled and has a style that can give Kessler problems.

You seem to be insecure about Kessler's chances. Don't be.

Plus it's hard to fight anywhere on the road. Robberies aren't exclusive to one country.

I never understood why the fight is in Ward's backyard. Kessler is the champion afterall and Ward, despite being talented, is relatively unknown. I was really disappointed when I heard Ward was unwilling to travel at all in the tourney. It goes against the whole principle of the super six.

Exactly. He should have been willing to travel or they shouldn't have let him participate.

Why couldn't it just mean Ward is a damn good fighter? Why does it have to mean, "this proved Kessler sucks and so did Calzaghe."
