I think Canelo will relinquish that title, because no one has really heard of this mandatory opponent for the IBF.

He'll take stick for fighting Berlanga, if selected, but they know they can sell it, kinda.

Scull shouldn't get this shot. If I was the IBF I would try to do a 4 fighter elimination for the mandatory shot. I would do Kevin Sadjo vs William Scull. Then Mbilli vs Shishkin. Winners fight each other for the mandatory shot.

I'm not looking forward to this fight at all , but if the guy did whatever he was supposed to in order to become the mandatory, then he should get the fight instead of having the requirements changed on him after he did his part. The Alphabet Gangsters should enforce their mandatories instead of having guys sitting in boxing purgatory for years. If you want to have the titles , fight your mandatory or let the belts go. That would keep divisions from stagnating and force guys to fight more often to defend their belts. Fighting once a year or less is why nobody outside of real boxing fans pays attention to boxing.

They probably knew those two bodies are petrified of telling Canelo what to do and will never order their mandos.

I'd be shocked of someone was willing to put the money up for Canelo to fight Scull.
