No, there is no genuine reason to ever have an interim "champion" because it's just a bogus and meaningless belt designed for one purpose. Sanctioning fees for these crooked organizations. This is a good fight, but this bogus belt detracts from the interest in the fight to me.

Whatever the reason is that these two aren't making the fight, being ordered to make it by the WBO is unlikely to push a deal over the line.

I wish they got rid of all these secondary titles and interim belts. All they do is cause confusion and most of the time they don't enforce them.
