PPL who say Gamboa has no defense have not watched his recent fights where he has made serious improvements. And I also think ppl are just naturally haters on this forum of skillful fighters.
How do you feel about Lopez vs Gamboa NOW??

I did see his fight. He wasn't as wild as usual but I still think when they start trading punches, Lopez will get to him first. We'll see though.Comment

It is difficult to say, Juan Ma messed up the Mtgawa fight in a number of ways starting with not taking his opponent as serious as he should and then letting his opponent fight a fight that he could win instead of maximizing his advantages. Juan Ma should take his next fights a lot more serious even if it is against a hobo and Gamboa would be the biggest test of his career so he should take it life and death serious. Hopefully Juan Ma learned some hard lessons in that fight.
To me there are question marks about both guys, but it is still a very interesting fight. I really have do not know what to think at this point, comming off the Mtgawa fight makes Gamboa's chances look good but that might be taking to much stock in one fight.Comment

I honestly think Lopez took the Mtawa fight too lightly. He won't do that again. Lopez will beat Gamboa, but it will be close in the early rounds I think. Lopez will definitely have to improve his defense, though, because he is a sucker for an over-hand right.
I was definitely impressed by Gamboa the other night because he looked much more patient than he usually does. But I don't think that will stick after he eats his first right-hook.
Both good fighters, I hope it happens.Comment

If Gamboa gets hurt in his next fight and lopez does likes he done before. Than we'll have another poll. Face it these to guys are young you can't determine whos better. Thats why Gamboa should fight Mtagwa so we can have a real idea. Its not the same when they fight different fighters.Comment

While I am gonna agree that he doesn't have a flat out terrible defense, I'm gonna have to regulate and say that he has definitely been hurt on some of those KDs. At least one.Well for one, as I mentioned he's shown defensive improvements over the last few fights. Two, at least all of his knockdowns were flash knockdowns and he always got up at the count of "1," which shows he was never hurt. Those KD's came as a result of being off balance while he was attacking (so those always came when he was offensive, not defensive). He's cleaned up his game quite a bit and is less wild.
Anyways, I always thought and still think that Gamboa wins this one. He better just be weary of that right hook.Comment

I only started watching JuanMa's fight at the end of the ninth, so I still have to see what he did at the start. I think people are jumping on him too harshly; he fight ******ly and got away with it. Ultimately, I think that fight will make him better in the long run. Plus at least he didn't pull an Ortiz, or who knows, maybe something similar happens to Gamboa in his next fight.
On to the fight, right now, it's still too close for me to call at this point. All I know is I'd love to see it happen.Comment
