ive seen clips of him running around with white woman..i know in one fight he hit a guy and had to scap his teeth out of his gloves....it mustve been rough fighting in such racist times

Is cool... I honestly feel if he was fighting right now. He would be the 3rd best HW out there. And, Maybe be able to hang with the Klitschko's. Maybe?

He did outweigh alot of his opponents

well not everyone is perfect
but Stanley Ketchel wanted the fight so he gave it to him
And in Jack's defense he treated the fight as an exhibition fight until Stanley took it a little too serious so Jack had to knock his teeth out

He was the man back then, he was an evolution in boxing style basically.

It was a different era so how he gets rated is up for debate but he is very worthy of a high ranking though.

to be honest if you see a tape of jack johnson hes like twice as big as the guys he fights....he was good at catching punches and defense its hard to tell how good he'd be against good competition....

Yea he was definitely a character Ali in some ways based his persona off of Jack Johnson's

That fight was with Stanley Ketchel, Johnson was playing with him at first but I think Stanley got a little serious and started throwing at full power so Jack kinda felt he had to put him in place O_O

There's a story that he was speeding (as he did a lot back then) and a white cop pulled him over and charged him an exorbitant amount for a speeding ticket (at that time where the avg ticket was four or five times lower or something) the rumor is Jack Johnson gave him double and said this for when I come back down this road... doing the same speed.
Gotta love him.... One of my favs of all time

IMO James J. Jefferies was good competition and was also bigger than Jack Johnson. And, Johnson KO'd him. And, I think retired him I might be wrong about that thouh.
