NO. Fighters of old fought more often. They stayed in shape so they averted injuries like this. Fighters fight so infrequently now that their bodies get cold and their ligaments tighten (not to mention weight gain). That takes a toll on you during training.

More to do with modern athletes pushing the realms of physical condition to higher more finely tuned levels, the same thing is happening in all animal competition as science and training is causing more breakdowns the closer they get to perfection.

Many of fighters go into fights injured. Stop making excuses. These fighters need to get fined if they pull out of a fight like this. They’ll think twice about postponing
