The reason is for one sole purpose; to divide. The division creates a plethora of voting classes to create hostility and divide people. In addition, the day you swear the oath to the country for citizenship you are no longer an “immigrant.” You are from that point forward an American CITIZEN. When I see a black person I see that PERSON as an AMERICAN. Give me any hyphenated sub division and across the board if they were born here or swore the oath, from that day forward they are an AMERICAN. In the end, I don’t give two S h I t s where you’re from. Your ancestry is your own but on this soil you’re American.

Identity politics is dividing and degrading this great country.
It's great to know and celebrate one's ancestry, but we're one nation, and we should act like it.

Yeah, back in the good old days, everyone was just American. Like in WWII when America put its citizens from Japanese ancestry in internement camps? Doesn't really match what you're saying about "on this soil you're American."

"You're either American or not" definitely didn't hold up at any point of American history until the end of Jim Crow and, according to you, a whole generation don't think it applies now. So is there some narrow window when it did apply? Let me guess, it just happens to tally up with when you were growing up and a younger man?

The culture in AMERICAN houses. It’s real simple, if you’re born in the USA, you’re an American. I was born in England of majority Welsh, Scottish, and Irish blood, I don’t claim claim to be any of those and can’t speak any of those Celt languages. Americans hve this thing about wanting to be anything but American when it’s convenient to divide, but no one wants to live in the country they are claiming.

The United States has this thing about not accepting everyone as Americans, and has been that way for about 250 years, so I see why many would feel like they're not "Americans." I understand that you might not know the language, or culture of your ancestors, but many in the U.S., still speak the languages, eat the food, and carry the traditions of their forebearers, while living here. I don't think it's wise for outsiders to tell them what they're not, even if it's so.

It’s funny, there are still places all over the world still employing slavery yet the hate America crusade hounds never ever take their crusades across continent. It’s always bad America! No, they won’t. Because the hate America first crowd (as is evidenced all over the country) still use the same playbook. The question is, is it OK for citizens of Germany, Poland, and Russia, to refer to themselves as ***s, even if they never lived a day in Israel? Even if their Grandparents never lived a day in Israel?
