Canelo is using the Mayweather blue-print, same one Floyd used on pacman. Have the fans demand the fight and make them wait then years later you announce it and it will be a massive event and generate huge money.
Except Floyd and Manny were true global superstars. They could generate money even now.

Most people don't care about Canelo outside of Mexico and Mexican-Americans and nobody on the street in 99.999% of the world has any idea who Benavidez is.

So Canelo can wait years and it'll still never generate that kind of money. Besides, Benavidez is much younger, it makes no sense for Canelo to delay and delay it if he had any intention of fighting him.

He's not using any blueprint. He simply doesn't want that fight for whatever reason, even to the point of saying he doesn't wanna fight a Mexican when asked about it, only to end up fighting an actual Mexican this weekend. Benavidez is only half Mexican and wasn't even born there

it's a fight Canelo just doesn't want. You can come to your own conclusions as to why.

True. I live in Europe and I have to go to the boxing gym to find people that know who canelo is.

While ordinary sport casuals recognize names as Pacquiao, Mayweather, Joshua, Usyk, Fury.

I don't agree with anything you typed except Manny and Floyd being more popular than Benavidez. Benavidez can potentially become a star and he might as well be on his way we have to wait and see.

There are tons of fights fighters don't want and don't end up taking for whatever reason. Like floyd and manny, it happened 5 years too late.

Canelo lost about 23 rounds in 3 fights to ggg off on jab alone.... Oscar speed height jab and reach is way too much for canelo

Battered ggg? What fight you were watching? RJJ would have beat any 168/160 version of canelo, just like Morrell Jr and benavidez

Why do you think Canelo doesn't seem to want to fight Benavidez? Canelo is coming up 34. It would make more sense for that fight to happen sooner than later.

It's not like he's out there taking bigger fights. Hes fighting guys like Munguia and Ryder. I understand when fighters put a dangerous fight on the back-burner when there's easier fights that are just as big, but this isn't the case here. It's fight week and people care more about a heated conversation between De La Hoya and Canelo rather than the fight.

In my opinion, when you weigh up the reasoning/excuses Canelo is giving along with the fact Canelo is fighting in much lesser profile fights by choice instead of a Benavidez fights, then it seems to me he's simply ducking it.

Maybe he is waiting and hoping the saudis will fund it, maybe they will. It doesn't seem he's going to ever fight Benavidez for any purse an American promoter can afford. This is not just a case of Canelo though. Top Rank were reluctant to let Beterbiev fight Bivol until the Saudis got involved and the money was too great.

I should imagine were entering a time where these mega fights will rarely get made until the Saudis fund it because fighters will be reluctant to pull the trigger on doing the fight in the US or UK thinking they could wait it out incase the Saudis want it.

I guess if I knew his plan or a better plan I wouldn't be here sending messages in a forum I would be in his team or some pro boxers team.

You might be right, that can be the reason he thinks someone will put up the 200 million, some people have it.
