Why not tag me if you are gonna try to demolish what I said…he is ungrateful. Plenty of other fighters carry themselves like men and handle their business in private. Where was all this bullshhh back when they made him the richest boxer of his era? Yeah, Oscar did that. How? Promotional company matters, it’s literally the career deference between Canelo and golovkin. Oscar got him fights and sold them in a way they didn’t seem like what they really were, guaranteed wins. Oscar also ate a 20 million dollar personal loss because Canelo never disclosed he had a promotional contract already but nah. Let’s trash Oscar, becuase Canelo told you too. His own business partners, other promoters, present and prior stables. Canelo was bound to be star power beyond Oscar anyway. He’s a successful Mexican boxer. One of the most popular since Chavez Sr. Mexicans were looking for the next Chavez Sr that would traverse into the American public and found it within Canelo. The media had more to do with this than anything Oscar did. During his time with Oscar no one wanted anything to do with Oscar. Canelo could have landed with any Promoter and excelled. Once Canelo figured out what the rest of any associate of Oscar had he was gone. Why do you think Oscar was so willing to release him? He knew he’d lose his a s s in any court case when discovery hit the pretrial.

So you are saying the money the fight generates is determined before the fighters sign the contracts. Ticket sales and ppv numbers are finalised before pen hits paper? No guarantees to the fighter regardless of the numbers?

The promoters invest their money, from a budget usually, into a fighter in which their are paid to do a job for them (promote the fight)

It's why, in the overwhelming majority of cases, we say a fighter fights 'under' a certain promotional banner.
