The fighter doesn't work for the promoter. They sign a deal with a promoter, in which the promoter then works for them and is paid to do a job by them out of their purse.

Wha??? Where did you go to school? All fighters (up to a point) work FOR a promoter.

I love how they say Canelo is ungrateful. That’s like growing up in foster care and the foster parents really elevated your life. Gave you every tool to become successful and when you grew up you became a doctor. Yet, along the way the foster kid reveals that he was abused for many years along the way. Why not tag me if you are gonna try to demolish what I said…he is ungrateful. Plenty of other fighters carry themselves like men and handle their business in private. Where was all this bullshhh back when they made him the richest boxer of his era? Yeah, Oscar did that. How? Promotional company matters, it’s literally the career deference between Canelo and golovkin. Oscar got him fights and sold them in a way they didn’t seem like what they really were, guaranteed wins. Oscar also ate a 20 million dollar personal loss because Canelo never disclosed he had a promotional contract already but nah. Let’s trash Oscar, becuase Canelo told you too. He can’t possibly be full of shhh like has been now for years, lying out both sides of his mouth. Where does the purse come from? Are you saying that DAZN for example paid Canelo to let them be his employees? Im fairly certain that they paid him a certain amount to fight a certain amount of fights. They then make profit from tv rights and other such avenues. Im no businessman ....but im pretty sure Canelo wasnt paying DAZN anything. Any money made from the promotional company is from upselling a product. Canelo can theoretically command 20 million a fight. If the fight makes 10 million....that loss isnt absorbed by Canelo. It comes out of the promoters pocket because they bought high and sold low....and at the end of the day Canelo gats "paid" from the promoter regardless. He isnt buying their services....they are buying his. When he looks for a new promoter he isnt asking how much will they "take"....hes asking how much will they "pay".

I'd beg to differ. Oscar Valdez from Reynoso's gym also pi$$ed dirty and tried to blame in on green tea. what would the probability be for two fighters from the same stable failing drugs tests due to tainted beef and green tea? Its way too much of a coincidence. In my opinion he has been on numerous substances throughout his career but just never got caught. Canelo has had some of the most dramatic body transformations in the sport, I don't think any other fighter in the sport today can compare to it. For years he ****** on about not being a middleweight then suddenly he's entertaining the prospect of a cruiserweight run...

They keep trying to act like this never happened, they had a good number of fighters suspended for testing negative but they still wanna run with the tainted meat bullshhh. Canelo and Eddie are both mega pricks and deserve each other.

I've never in my life heard anyone refer to their promoter as part of their "team". You're grasping at straws.

Or, when a fighter is asked about their next fight like AJ was the other day on Talk Sport and he said "I'll sit down with Eddie and the rest of my team". What did you think that was about?
