I don’t think canelo really gaf about Oscar, he has his own accolades and achievements, plus everything he does is criticized under a microscope. Oscar isn’t that guy anymore. This is canelos time:
Getting together with some friends on Saturday for the first time in a while to watch boxing together. And I sincerely hope I don't have to put up with a bunch of Oscar de La Hoya during the telecast. Get it out of the way on fight week Oscar. I can ignore you during fight week.
He is an all-time great in boxing. He's been successful as a promoter. He's turning into a bitter unpleasant human being to be associated with older he gets.
Olympic gold medalist
6 division champ
10x champion
all time great
oh yea he's very "weak minded" lol
Although I, like everyone else, adored Oscar as a fighter, I actually dislike having to agree with this point because Fishnets.
However it's such a good point that I also now feel compelled to reinforce it; To even survive relapsing & rehab'ing from ******* addiction (& u know Oscar b getting dat pura perrrriiiicccoooo!) again & again takes a degree of mental fortitude that most humans do not possess. We know this from all the destroyed lives & families of former/recovering/trapped-in-a-cycle addicts from all demographics who do not run successful international businesses or were taken from us too early.

These two ideas are not mutually exclusive. Yes, Oscar was a brilliant boxer. He was also a dope addict, totally insecure and had a bunch of other mental problems. Just read his book. Oscar freely admits that. He started his diatribe at the press conference with just that theme.
