Sorry, no way Munguia can beat Canelo.

Don't be surprised if he calls out Benavidez, but ok, maybe he won't. He could beat him as well though.

Of course, the two David's would be much more difficult opponents than Jaime, who is a good fighter, no disrespect.

A lot of fans aren’t taking the following points into account:

      1. Canelo’s wear and tear, injuries, amount of fights
      2. What Canelo looked like in his fight against an old GGG
      3. Canelo’s last fight was against a 154lb champion coming up in weight. He couldn’t KO him.
      4. Canelo’s career-long stamina issues coupled with his age
      5. Bringing up Munguia fights from 4+ years ago is a bad look for a boxing fan, considering Munguia was 21-24 years old and has improved.
      6. Munguia is now 27 and in his prime, energetic for 12 rounds, hits hard, he’s a big kid and has a great chin. If you think Canelo is going to KO him while having gone the distance in his last 4 fights, you’re an even bigger Canelo fan than me.

A lot of good fighters barely beat Derevyanchenko.

GGG, Jacobs, Adames. I had him handily beating GGG.

Jermall was the only fighter who clearly beat him.

      Munguia stopped O’Sullivan.

People are also not taking into account that Munguia is bigger than Canelo. But it’s not only that. Munguia has a strong chin, very good power and improved punch selection, and has stamina for 12 rounds.

This will NOT be an easy fight for Canelo and if you think, you are sorely mistaken. This isn’t going to be another Angulo or Chavez Jr one sided fight.

Just make sure you’re back here with your ‘reasonings’ after Canelo uses Munguia as a literal towel to wipe the floor with. Let yourself go and let the back tracking roll.

Munguia is pretty basic but relies on his physicality and aggression to carry him through. Problem is, canelo will be able to see everything coming his way from a mile away. Roach can’t teach timing and finesse, for the most part.

The dashboard warning light for Alvarez could start flashing anytime now. He's got 64 fights and 33 years of age on his odometer, so to speak, and he might just grow old in the ring against a fresher Munguia in the later rounds. I'm sniffing an upset. Tony Bellew has been saying he thinks Alvarez is - at most - 80% of his career-best form. Of course, he's probably also promoting the event for DAZN, but I suspect there's some truth in it.

In spite of all the positives about Munguia, a KO by Canelo is likely. Just a hunch. Canelo needs an impressive win if he wants to be the "face of boxing" or at least one of the faces.

                    Uhhhhhh...

Munguia takes massive damage in every fight.
