In pure numbers, just numbers and nothing else, Derevyanchenko hits about as hard as Canelo, just % wise.

Speaking from just watching both guys recently, i’m going to go out on a hunch and say yes Munguia will take Canelo’s power just like old GGG did in the trilogy, and just like Ryder and Charlo did. Canelo has gone 12 rounds in each of his last 4 fights. He knocked down Ryder and Charlo…great…But Munguia came up in weight and dropped Ryder 4 times and stopped him.

I think that this is due to a few things. The most important one is a hand injury which unfortunately, that hand will never be the same. Even if Canelo says he is, he really isn’t, and he never will be the same. Canelo is going to have to outbox Munguia and win on points. He doesn’t have the same power he showed pre-hand injury.

Old GGG was facing and Injured Canelo. Ryder was at his best vs Canelo. For Munguia he came out retirement for a payday. Charlo ran all night not to get KO, Mungia won't run.

Except the roles are reversed. In this fight, Canelo is the aging fighter and Munguia is the young, hungry lion.

but stylistically it may look similar. Hopefully not. I at least want a good competitive fight.

That’s the thing, after hand injury/surgery, a fighter’s operated hand is no longer the same. It’s what i’m trying to tell you. Canelo will never be 100% for the rest of his career. His hand will never be 100%. He will have to beat Munguia with skill and defense, not power. Canelo will always have pop and you can’t just stand there and take his shots. But he will not be the same anymore, it won’t be the same pop as we saw vs Plant, Saunders, or Kovalev. Expect 12 round fights for Canelo unless he fights seriously overmatched opponents.
