Mungia is a fun fight but just think about this. Benevidez bout to fight at LHW and if successful maybe get a title there(I don’t think that’ll happen) but that just tells you the size difference in the two lol.
Nah, the negativity comes from him fighting names past their prime or on the downside. The Khan fight was de****able! The first GGG fight should have happened a year and a half earlier. It literally took the country of Mexico ridiculing him until he finally stepped into the ring with him. It was shameful that he made GGG wait until he was 40 before finally ending the trilogy. He was able to shrink his body to 155 and then go all the way back up to 175. Cotto looked small compared to him. Believe me, there's a lot not to like about Clenelo even without him ducking Benavidez!

Its very easy for those folks who stay on the safe side of the ropes to make dismissive comments. If Canelo was a coward he wouldn't have fought GGG, & he wouldn't have fought 'No doubt' Trout. If he wanted, come what may, to keep an impeccable record he wouldn't have fought Erislandy Lara let alone Mayweather. I'm not here to say what a wonderful person Canelo is but, IMO. he deserves some credit for taking on top contenders over & again.
He dropped the belts to avoid GGGrandpa. He was given a gift draw then pissed dirty b4 the rematch.

Daggum, you're a ****. You wouldn't know a jab from a hedgehog. If you improved your knowledge you could be an ignoramus but, TBH, that is probably asking too much of you.
He had to fight them because they were his mandatories.

regarding big fights like Benavidez, the $150-200m number seems very specific. That leads me to believe someone is in canelo ears (probably Hearn) advising him this is very possible and saudis are open to doing it. I’m hoping this is true and he’s holding out until he receives such offer from them.
You're blaming Eddie now for Canelo being a punk? Haha. No, that is who Canelo is. Where was Eddie from the get go? Canelo has always been this way.

Can someone write down each and every "Tough" fight Canelo has supposedly taken in his career? I'm seriously at a miss here.

Callum only had 3 weeks camp and was coming off that bad performance against Ryder. Canelo has been waiting for Benavidez to badly struggle on the scales and look horrible in the ring. It never came so he didn't fight him.

Canelo may wait until Benavidez has settled at LH then drain him down knowing how much it will take out of him. Hell, he may wait until Bena fights either Bivol or Beterbiev and comes off a loss as well before doing it.

I agree with most of the writing here but I think we shouldn't lose sight that Canelo's strategy is not unlike Floyd's. Floyd - who I still consider close to the greatest, if not thee greatest - was very strategic in his opponent selection choosing many great opponents when they had surpassed their prime.

I'm honestly surprised he isn't given a little more grace, I know he isn't always fighting the best available opposition but who in this era is.

Most if not all fighters of this generation are just sitting on their thumbs taking gimme fights waiting on the big cheque, why are only certain fighters held to a stranard and others are not...
If you add in fighters amateur fights as well as pro's like you're doing for Canelo, they'd all have many more fights and years than Canelo has. Don't forget he turned pro at 15.

Bud Crawford beats the career out of a guy who was supposed to be a P4P great, and now they're right onto saying that he's ducking some hypejob with only one top 10 win and one faded former champion beaten, and opponents with an average 61% win rate. I'm not impressed with Canelo's choices of opposition lately, but the blame is on the alphabet organizations who refuse to call their mandatories. Boxing "fans" will never be happy.
Canelo isn't to blame for ducking fights. It's the organisations? Why, are they telling Canelo that he can't fight someone unless they give the green light? They told him to ask for the ****** asking price and complain about Benavidez being "Much bigger"? Sorry, but Canelo picks all of his opponents.

Damn. We've had someone blame Eddie Hearn for this. Now it's the organisations. Anyone but the coward himself. His fanatical fans can live with that. They just hate it when people see straight through Canelo Alvarez and acknowledge him to be the one to blame. Kind of messes with you and the ego when you're trying to live vicariously through a coward, doesn't it?

So what point are you trying to make if any. It’s not an easy fight unless Munguia get caught early and goes. Think before given an opinion!
Munguia was beaten and knocked around the ring by a way past his best Chenko. He only took the fight because he thought he was done after coming off many losses. Ryder however was coming straight from a gruelling loss and was shot. Munguia had the chance to fight Ryder earlier, but he didn't like the fact he was active and coming off of wins with momentum. He intentionally waited until he was completely done to fight him.

Sorry, but Munguia is a weak minded scrub. He wouldn't have targeted shot and inactive opponents for years otherwise while telling us he was going after the bigger fights next year even though he did this for about 5 years straight. The reason to why Oscar and Jaime called Canelo out was because they were keeping everyone preoccupied with a big fight knowing full well they weren't getting the fight due to how Canelo felt about Oscar. But with this Benavidez business, Canelo had to do something he didn't actually want to do and in some way work with Oscar. After years of saying they want the fight, they can't exactly turn round and say no, can they.

They both deserve each other. Both of them are embarrassing frauds to the extreme.
