Fact: Benavidez is shorter than Callum Smith and has a shorter reach as well so people can't complain about a size difference for Canelo to fight Benavidez.

When you want to avoid the "tough" fights it's time to hang up the gloves.

The worst thing in all this is that the sanctioning bodies don’t enforce their mandatories. Both Benevidez (WBC) and Morell (WBA) have been mandatories for years now and they are both finally moving up to find dance partners since Canelo is hoarding those belts. In the old days he’d be forced to vacate to avoid them and there would be no question what’s up.

He's 19 years into his pro career going into his 65th fight for this era he's an old man in the game...

I'm honestly surprised he isn't given a little more grace, I know he isn't always fighting the best available opposition but who in this era is.

Most if not all fighters of this generation are just sitting on their thumbs taking gimme fights waiting on the big cheque, why are only certain fighters held to a stranard and others are not...

Remember that time Dimitry Bivol beat the brakes off of him? That was the time. Obviously, he didn't consciously take a tough fight, but HE DID take a tough fight, lol

People love to hate. You know who IS taking on all the hardest fights? Inoue. Literally signed a contract for it. 50% of his career vs champions , most ranked in the top 5, over 80% of his career title fights. But NSB still thinks he's a bum. Bud Crawford beats the career out of a guy who was supposed to be a P4P great, and now they're right onto saying that he's ducking some hypejob with only one top 10 win and one faded former champion beaten, and opponents with an average 61% win rate. I'm not impressed with Canelo's choices of opposition lately, but the blame is on the alphabet organizations who refuse to call their mandatories. Boxing "fans" will never be happy.

It’s a little much. Mungia is a fun fight but just think about this. Benevidez bout to fight at LHW and if successful maybe get a title there(I don’t think that’ll happen) but that just tells you the size difference in the two lol.
Naw, fam. It's not Canelo hate. It's watching him pamper himself in his designer pj's, taking drugs and cherry picking opponents. He's no different than ODLH whom he is wont to criticize. They're both scum sucking money lovers.

Your points aren’t good at all, and how the hell do you know what’s about to take place when no one does! Did Munguia look better against recent opponent, yes or no? So what point are you trying to make if any. It’s not an easy fight unless Munguia get caught early and goes. Think before given an opinion!

EXCELLENT article and the author did NOT tell ONE LIE. The only people who have an issue with this article are the usual suspects. There is NO HATE here. Just unfiltered TRUTH!

This is what happens when guys who've never laced up a pair of gloves or even been in a fight before become writers. The fact that this doofus by the name of Owen lewis disregards Mungia as not being a "tough" fight tells you all you need to know about this clown. Outside of David and the beterbiev-bivol winner, Mungia is hands down the toughest matchup out there for canelo. Young, strong guy with a great workrate, serious punching power, and a solid chin. Matter of fact, pound for pound Mungia is probably a bigger puncher than benavidez who's always been more of a volume guy.

This is how you know canelo can never win with these twinks in the media. And it's the exact reason he longer cares about their opinions. Anybody who says Mungia isn't a tough fight is an absolute moron. I promise you this clown Owen wouldn't dare go up to canelo or Mungia and say these things to their faces. Cause most of these writers are just a bunch of cowards when it comes down to it.
