cotto catchweight was imposed by COTTO. He was the A side
Lara fight was at 155. They both were 154 pounders. Fighting at 155 is the norm for non title fights, which this was.
Jacob fight, hydradation clause was imposed by IBF, not canelo! Btw, Jacob missed the weight anyways.
try again.

“The IBF has abolished same-day weigh-ins for unification bouts since GGG narrowly outpointed Jacobs. That meant there would be no second weigh-in for Canelo-Jacobs mandated by the organization (as Alvarez also holds the WBC and WBA titles). However, both parties agreed to the condition during negotiations.”
was every 155lb fight “the norm for non title fights?” Or did he hide out at “Canelo weight” for a couple years?
guy needed to weight drain Chavez Jr and Rocky Fielding FFS
try againLast edited by _Rexy_; 05-05-2024, 08:36 AM.

You wouldn't crying about adding amateurs records and pro together due to the age if it was Brit who turned over at 15.
Or if for some bizarre reason it was 21 to become a pro fighter in America and it remained 18 in the UK...

I have no idea what you mean by "If this was a Brit". What????
Well, i got the reply and it was even more ridiculous than the last. If you can't understand a simple point, that's not my fault.

I literally quoted you and even changed the colour of the text specifically to point out what you said about "adding amatuer records and pro fights together".
like i'm allegedly doing with "Canelo" which was never the case like I said he had like 45 amatuer fights .
And you can harp on about the age he turned over but he was doing 4x3 not 3x2 like amateurs and he’d done multiple 12x3 before turning 18.
So regardless of your invalid opinion he was operating at a level that constitutes "professional", fight duration, opposition and purses all indicate such.
And the reason I'm mentioning "Brits" is because this wouldn't even be up for debate if Canelo was British.
You wouldn't even question the situation, you'd just accept it as the norm because you're a weird nationalistic fanboy, which pretty much bares out in all your posts.

It wouldn't matter if he was British or not. The same applies. To think i'd think differently doesn't even make any sense to me. I was just pointing it out to get the correct reading. It isn't a big deal. But you seem to think it's only because it's Canelo or something. It isn't.
Do you even know the kind of opinions a nationalist comes out with? If you think correcting people's slander is being nationalistic, then you don't even know what you're looking at. The person i'm correcting is the nationalistic nutter. Not me. You couldn't even give a single example of when i've said something that wasn't true or reasonable. Give it a go if you think you can. But you'll fail rather badly here.

The fact I've explained the differences and you're still trying to argue the point is embarrassing really.
But as I said previously Canelo was doing 8-10 rounders at 16, twelve rounders at 17 it's not even logical to compare what he was doing to amatuer boxing but you've proven to be illogical so I don't know why I am engaging with you.
I don't care about other people's responses to you, it's our back and forth that matters and I haven't said anything that's "slanderous".
Sports and nationalism are intertwined but normally it's banal.
But the way you consistently bring up nationality and support people for the simple consequence of their birth in the British isles and to bash others borders on xenophobic.
Everything I've said is backed up by the facts and/or your post history.
As for me giving an example of you saying something that wasn't true - "I didn't say they were amateur fights.I said you'd have to include every fight from the age of 15 for all fighters to go with their pro resume if you're including Canelo's fights during this time period.”
Only for you to say - "Add in fighters amateur fights as well as pro's like you're doing for Canelo".
