  • Making weight

It's clear this is SO important. 3lbs at 140lbs is a difference maker. Hopefully a few people realise it's not about what you weigh on the night but it's about how much you take out of your body 24hrs before the fight compared to your opponent.

Haney can blame nobody but himself because he took the money rather than a fair fight but fighters in future at these lower weights should really think twice before going ahead with anything more than 1.5lb difference.

Haney was overrated and shouldn't be undefeated to begin with.
Garcia was unprofessional and is still a beltless social media boy.
Tank will continue to be overrated fighting cherry picks or dehydrated guys or both.

    They all are true.

3 lbs might make a difference if they fought immediately after the weigh-in. I don't think it makes that much of a difference 36 hours afterwards. Neither of them was anywhere near the neighborhood of 140 lbs by fight night.

I think recovery wise it still matters. Sure they probably rehydrated over 20 lbs anyway but not having to shave off that last 3 lbs probably mattered a fair amount.
